Their lad went down injured and they took a quick free kick. They’ve not had the Italian waste time lesson yet. He looked gutted to have to get up!

Started to type who I rated and realised I’d got to about eight names!

Difficult to tell how good they all are until we see more against first teams but Hoever, Williams, Larouci, Jones and Elliott all look superb today

So a good number of those on display today, including Brewster, will form the quarter-final winning side against Villa huh.

6 nil now, Curtis Jones hat trick. Any streams or anything?
Balotelli, Falcao, Cavani...

I'll be shocked if it's anyone other Etoo. Etoo or no-one. Simples.

In fact, I'll do you all a favor and ban myself from the January transfer window forum if we get anyone other than Etoo.

Elliott gone off as has van den berg. Missed the other

Triple substitution

Jones still on and he looks class above. Very impressed. Seems to me he’s kicked on miles since last season

Agree with this. Thought up until this season he looked like one who wasn’t quite going to make the grade but been impressed every time I’ve seen him this season, stands out from the League Cup Group of youngsters for me

Playing in the first team can make players kick on, which it looks like he has. Still looks to me like he can be a bit too greedy/can hold onto it a bit too long, but the top level decision making comes with playing at the top level.

I think we've missed a trick over the years by not giving some players a bit more time at first team (a bit less so over the last few couple as competing at a higher level makes that harder).

I hadn’t seen much of Dixon-Bonner before today but he’s stood out too

Physically bigger than a lot on the pitch but keeps everything simple. Keeps play moving. Wins it back when needed.

Hopefully see more of him as he’s been very good to watch

Great movement from Jones up front there too. Really good.

7-0 FT. Only saw parts of the game after 6-0 but different level all over the pitch to Napoli. As the commentator said.. could have been 12 or 13, and that was before we had another 2 or 3 good chances, including an open goal (although came fast and high). Good stuff.

This is funny.

"Just watching liverpool in the UEFA youth league here an that Curtis Jones just scored a pen an running back to the half way line he tells Harvey Elliot to shut his mouth or he'll take the next one as well the fucking top knot twat hahaha"

https://twitter.com/Jackbluenose1/status/1199710809276002305

(BEAR IN MIND we actually have no idea who Curtis Jones is talking to here, it might have been and probably was a Napoli player... but this is still funny)

EDIT: it's definitely Harvey. "Hey Harvey, shut yer gob, or I'll take the nex one swell" ha haa

according to the Official Match report, we made 5 x substitutions;

Liverpool U19s: Winterbottom, Williams, Van den Berg (Boyes, 56), Hoever, Larouci (Clayton, 73), Clarkson (Morton, 56), Dixon-Bonner, Cain, Elliott (Hill, 56), Jones (Norris, 68), Longstaff.

Unused substitutes: Davies, Bradley.

What's all that about  ???
There was a two-minute interlude where Liverpool’s three-man attack squared up against United’s three-man defence and basically stalked them back into their own penalty area, like battle-hardened mountain wolves closing in on a flock of geriatric sheep.  Barney Ronay at Anfield @barneyronay Sun 19 Jan 2020 20.36 GMT

Because thems the rules.

5 subs, but max of 3 times you can stop a game to make the subs.

Cain goes under the radar but he's a lovely footballer, can do a bit of everything, dribble, score, assist has an lovely touch and probably the most expansive passing range in the team.

They’ve both addressed this on their insta stories. Curtis said they’re brothers and brothers always bicker. It’s clearly a very minor thing, not that anyone here was making a big deal out of it.

U18s away to spurs in the youth cup tonight.

Team https://twitter.com/RobGuesty/status/1201576298767945729?s=19

Odd to schedule it the same time as an u23 game. Experimental defence with hoever dropping down im guessing to add some expeirence to it and only 3 subs with none a keeper
