That's such a shame, even though the decision was technically correct. Nobody is too arsed about that offside before VAR. I'd be annoyed about the handball though.

Kimmich at international level has the same issue Gerrard had. So good in multiple positions that they shoehorn him in because he's better than the other options in that position...but it's not his best position so never gets to show his best.

It's a legitimate offside, but you have to wonder about the use of VAR for it.

Gnabrys shoulder is beyond the portugeues player, but the rest of his body is level. Then for the chance, Gnabry is using his legs to go for the ball (not his shoulder) and totally misses.

The portuguese defence and keeper haven't exactly been fooled into defending an obviously off player or anything, they're continuing their job as usual.

and ultimately at the end of it, we're denied a good bit of football with the finish. is it an improvement, having VAR call offsides near the technology's margin of error like that?

They have no other fit right back is more the problem at the moment, but that’s partly the fault of those picking the squad for not taking another right back apart from Klostermann.

God Save the Queen/King is such an easy tune but the players and fans always, always fuck up the timing on the lyrics. Always either too fast or slow so goes out of time.
