Thoroughly deserved not just down to consistency but also turned in a few great performances. You'll never see him bombing down the line and skinning their full back, he does it by stealth. He has exceptional timing for the overlap when required although he is more than capable of delivering accurate crosses from deep. I'm sure someone on here will have the stats for conversions from his crosses but I bet the return is high.

Oh yeah... And not a lot gets past him at the back either.

Unsung hero personified.

One thing's been cleared up. Pepe Reina will never, ever win Liverpool player of the year.

yorky kopite, reina had a dam good season, not  aperfect 1 though, an if he irons out his rare errors he  could be player of season, mind you the goalie rarely gets these awards.

Just seen this. Happy to see the results. Reflects my views well. I voted for Finnan, with Pepe being my 2nd choice.

Have to say I though Steve Finnan had a much better season 05-06 than 06-07 when his performances were slightly less consistent and he was much less of an attacking threat.

Definately deserves recogniton, but Agger for me.
Agree with this. I thought he was very good overall last season, but players like Agger and Reina were just as consistent (Finnan had a couple of dodgy games too). For me it would be one of Reina/Agger, then possibly Carra, and Finnan in 4th. Had a good season though (thought he was better in 05/06 though) so well done to him.

Often maligned, under appreciated, but nobody's been more consistent for LFC these past 3 years.

Congratulations Steve!

It was Agger for me, but I agree with the top four getting that credit.

Stevie Finnan is probably alongside Carra as the most consistent and loyal player in Liverpools side. He plays for the shirt and gives 120% no matter what game. Stevie Finnan LIverpool FC and RAWK legend
