They can always "sell" Otamendi to one of the Etihad sister clubs in the US or Australia. Don't see it as being a huge issue.

The article notes that they told Otamendi to come with an offer from a club in the summer and nobody came remotely close. They also wanted to sign Chilwell and had everything agreed before cancelling it with two games to go last season, as they realized nobody wants Mendy with his injury history. They then resolved to keep Mendy and resigned Angelino as cheap home-grown cover.

They basically can't move for another foreign player unless one exits in January  which may end up being Sane, although they've lost much of their negotiating position. The article also claims that in the summer they planned to let Sane leave and not replace him since a) they couldn't get Felix and b) thought Mahrez was adequate back up. That said, they now want someone (likely Oyarzabal) to replace Sane

At least Manchester City can console themselves with the fact that they, at least, have managed to beat us at Anfield this century.  Unlike Everton. ;D

A fair point. I love living here and I generally find the people friendly. Until football's involved.  There were 3 of us holding up the Liverpool side in a bar yesterday. We made sure to make our celebrations as loud and obnoxious as we could.

His reaction at start of second half was pathetic. Shaking his head at camera.

They actually played pretty well in parts but he choose to not replace Kompany and have 110 million pounds worth of FBs on bench / not in squad.

Come on guys go easy on them. They're struggling with injuries to key positions despite having such amazing squad depth.

I mean we started today with a guy who was our 4th choice CB in September and we've had a goalie released by West Ham on a free between the sticks for most of this campaign. Don't let that get in the way of the narrative though, it's not like they've spent billions either.

Pep would be nowhere near if he had the same resources and had to sell his best players... nowhere near to Klopp.

If they thought it was unfair then their £500 million team, or whatever it is, had 85 minutes to do something about it.

They didn’t, so fuck em.

He's an excellent player in all fairness. Loved seeing the little shit wound up yesterday though, thought he was a shoe in to get booked the way he was behaving. He put a nasty one on Van Dijk at the very end too.
Oh and Gomez looked really really scared when he Sterling acted the big man didnt he

Missed opportunity yesterday. Van Dijk should’ve patted Sterling on the head after he tried to leave one on him or even better, should’ve laughed in his face ala Allardyce and Chico Flores.

Delightful Twitter thread:
https://mobile.twitter.com/DuncanCastles/status/1193569696588546049

You can actually feel the tears dropping as he wrote this
Never heard of this guy. On Twitter he describes himself as a journalist but his Instagram feed seems to be run by an eight year old Manchester United fan in the process of transitioning to City. Complete with dodgy photoshopping and the occasional Ronaldo/Beckham cameo. Could be one of the most sophisticated parody accounts ever made.

Yeah. Frighteningly good at dribbling at pace now. Klopp had to change our right hand side 3 times in the second half to try to get a handle on him.

Serious talk. I thought Sterling was brilliant yesterday. Every time it was played out wide to him in that second half he looked dangerous, often without much help from his teammates.

Aguero's was the strange performance. There's no way he misses those chances at any other ground. Is there a bigger case of a world class player enduring such a barren streak at one specific ground?

That gif may end up being as iconic as the fuuuuuuuuuu in the Everton thread.

Nah, it should be up there with the Moyes 2-2 gif or the various first touch of a trampoline ones though.  ;D

The fuuuuuuuck gif has been there so long and still fits perfectly for that club, whereas we'll soon forget Pep Fawlty's time at City once he buggers off somewhere else.

It's not just him. Sterling and KdB also can't get it done at Anfield to save their lives...long may it continue.
