Would it be absolutely mental to play him at LB and Robbo at LCB?  I know it’s a bit left field but it might just work in the short term...
As good as Robbo is, his one weakness is probably aerial duels.

Plus the idea of Kostas coming in was to rotate him with Robertson, not play them both at the same time.

He never looks under pressure because he is completely two-footed. That gives him twice as many options as the average full back.

So he can play RB as well?

It seems he only plays LB but he should be able to do a job at RB.

It's good enough for me if he can give Robbo a break to keep him sharp. That will do. Plenty of games for Kostas.

Looked competent when he came on. Obviously he's had a couple of issues outside of his control since he joined meaning he's been unavailable but I'm sure he's learnt a lot, maybe not too dissimilar to Robbo when he first joined.

There was a moment towards the end where Neco whipped in a delicious cross that Atalanta cleared as far as Tsimikas, who himself put in a brilliant cross. It was honestly like Trent and Robbo were still on the pitch.

I’d say competent is slightly understating it. But maybe erring on the side of caution is best given how little we’ve seen of him so far. Feeling *very* positive about him based on what we have seen though.

Can Tsimikas play as left CB? I mean the guy is a defender so putting him in defense would not be a worse idea than putting a midfielder in there.

I'm excited about this guy, and it's kind of annoying that he hasn't been available more yet.

I know it takes time with the Kopp system, and Covid happened, but I want to see this guy a little more; maybe there is a chance now.

Robbo is still the boss though.

He'll definitely play is it's a big game for promotion to next Nations league group and a potential back door to WC qualifications. Interestingly he doesn't usually start for Greece but the first choice left back is currently injured.

Giannoulis. Tsimikas will play 90 mins tomorrow night but probably not a bad thing considering his lack of game time this season.

I was quietly encouraged by Tsimikas' performance tonight. Not as good as Robbo (obviously) but did enough for me in that first half to suggest he'll be more than adequate cover. Put in one of the better performances on what was a pretty dismal night. Some of his crosses were quite tasty.

Thought he did ok. Obviously short on fitness and thrown in a makeshift side, but did quite well on his flank in the first half and put in a couple of decent crosses. Should have done better on their first and cut out the cross to Ilicic, but he was dead on his legs at that point.

I also thought he aquitted himself well. Not easy for him given the make up of the team but signs that he will be decent cover for Robbo, especially when we are back to full strength.

He’s definitely good enough to back up Robbo and get a starry here and there as well. Fiesty, quick, and has a good attacking instinct.

Seemed fine to me, I've liked him since I first saw him play, the bonus is he has a good attacking instinct with skill, as well as energy levels and tenacity in winning the ball/defending.
When I say energy levels, I agree with what people have wrote here, he needs to get that fitness level up, like our more regular players have in the team.
Understandable why he wouldn't have peak fitness at the mo of course.
When Robbo has a chance to rest for a few minutes here or there if Trent is still out then try him on the other wing. It'd be better that trusting it to Neco, who still seems very naive and weak.
Not ideal playing our back up LB on the other wing, but it'll get his fitness up and help him gel within the team (because of all the injuries mainly).
'Fire in your belly comes from pride and passion in wearing the red shirt. We don't need to motivate players because each of them is responsible for the performance of the team as a whole. The status of Liverpool's players keeps them motivated.'

Got to give him a few months and appearances, maybe with the better lads occasionally, before any judgements on his ability or suitability.

Whether it's Tsimikas or either of the Williams lads it's got to be hard coming into the team currently. You have limited experience of playing in this system but also you are playing in a much changed line up. At some point we'll see Tsimikas in a team with Matip, Fabinho and Trent in defence. Plus Henderson, Thiago, Wijnadulm in midfield. Got to be much easier to play well and influence the game in a team that has cohesion, experience and quality throughout. I don't think we necessarily had that last night and everyone's performance suffered a bit.
I think Jookie might just be the best fisherman on this thread.

Hope injury not too bad

So difficult for the lad as we know he's a backup. He'll get rare starts and odd minutes here and there. Hopefully thats all anyway as will mean robbo is fully fit

Thought he did OK yesterday. Cant ask much more of him playing without many regulars around him

Agree with that. It's hard to judge a player until he's had a few games under his belt playing with the first team. Better players give others the chance to show how good (or bad) they actually are. For me the lad has looked promising and I hope he gets decent game time this season.
