PPV Match to appear on the web
« on: January 9, 2002, 03:40:27 pm »
the Manc v Liverpool match is to be broadcast on LFC.tv from midnight after the match has concluded.  See details on teh link below:

http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/drilldown/N132900020109-1259.htm

This is fine if you have an ISDN, Broadband or direct link to the internet server but with bog standard 56k modems it is gonna be crap.

Also this is mainly aimed at overseas supporters but since the game is being broadcast on Sky Sports then most of the world will probably get the whole match(with no delay) on time.

With me having broadband and an e-season ticket I'll give it a go but I'll be watching it live on Canal+Belgium!

I didn't mind the E-Season ticket when it was free.  But there is no way I'd try and watch that game over the net, it would be more stop than go.  A complete waste of time.

Ive got broadband cable, and the quality of the videos is appauling! The bitrate is not as high as broadband can handle, so whats the point in it?

The pitch looked "grainy" and players were blurred on zoomed out shots when the e-season ticket was free. That's why i never paid for it. If the quality of video was more like DivX quality I would probably get it! Better still, a channel on Sky Digital would be a better option - more people have got that than cable or ADSL modems.

Sometimes I just wanna see the game again when I get back from it without having to listen to the likes of Lynam and Venables. I'd pay a fiver for that privilage! :)

I like the thought of being able to watch every game. But when the game is live on TV, what's the point in watching it over a non-reliable transmission?

I agree Davrouk, I'd much prefer that we had a dedicated channel on digital.  To be honest, I'd be more than happy to pay a sub to view it.
