Changed the game when he came in by adding an extra attacking dimension to our play.

Has to start to start at Arsenal for me.

i think we have to play shaqiri along with firmino, mane and salah (or sturridge if one of the three have to miss out) against teams from bottom half (especially at anfield).

Listening to Klopp's post match conference - it seems he didn't start him because he's still trying to learn how Shaq reacts to too many games in a short period of time (injury wise). He played for Switzerland in both their games and played 90 minutes against Huddersfield and  70 minutes against Red Star so that makes sense.

What a signing, he's been brilliant and seems to be loving it here. Delighted for him to get a goal today and he took it brilliantly.

Would be good to see him step up and take set piece duties, I miss seeing the net ripple when we get a freekick in shooting distance

Since arriving at LFC, Xherdan looks like a guy who was wrongfully in prison for 20 years and finally got let out. Have you ever seen a player so happy? :)

He played and frequently had to visit Stoke. Probably the equivalent of 20 years in prison.

His natural ability to find those pockets of space between the lines is brilliant. Then once he receives the ball he instinctively knows what he's going to do with it.

so maybe now we are looking at Shaq and Lallana cementing a shared spot in that midfield?

:D  its like a reality show...the task is so huge the talent so great that no one man can do it alone, becoming nailed on in this Klopp Liverpool squad. Can Naby and Jordan come back from this big Playing Time threat? stay tuned for next weeks lineups.

He's very good and I love what he brings from midfield. He's got the creative spark we've lacked since Coutinho left and while he's not that level of player, he's still very good and seems to click almost naturally with the front three as most good players do with other good players.
Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

Coutinho is really good but from what we seen of Shaq (So far this season), he seems more consistent and fit our team play more.

Coutinho wasn't a straight fit into our team for sure but he is outrageously good. That's why Barca paid what they did for him. Despite not being a perfect fit, he was smashing in the goals and creating a heap of chances in most games. We are doing Shaq a disservice by comparing him to one of the best players we've had at Liverpool for a few years now.

Coutinho is a much better footballer but it was always evident that he didn't have the speed + aerobic capacity to work in our midfield without us making huge adjustments to fit him in. Shaqiri is the opposite, less talented but he has good end product on a consistent basis and has the speed and energy to get about the midfield without us losing shape. The only thing I'd say is he probably doesn't give us enough control in possession in those areas yet, which you'd imagine why Keita would come in at some point soon (and maybe why Klopp started Lallana yesterday).

We should be making more of the threat we carry at corners.  Maybe Shaqiri is the answer with his whipping style of free kicks.  Can't recall if he takes them for Switzerland and how he goes, but Salah is hardly setting them up for our big man.

As soon as he came on, he took over left footed set piece duty. He's also higher up on free kicks too - see the one that bounced on the line for Salah to tap in against Southampton

Quality player with truckloads of enthusiasm, guile, and attacking intent.

Loved the way he was determined to celebrate in front of the Kop, and after being initially denied by his team mates, he waited then held his arms aloft and got the cheers he deserved.

That huge smile is brilliant to see on one of our team, and seems to be what Klopp does to his players - he makes them happy and motivated and they play great football for him.

He's long gone, but my 2 main problems with Coutinho were that his constant roaming left a large hole that got exploited a lot and the fact that if you shut him down, we were less effective(Dembele for instance). What he adds, he takes away sort of a situation. It's very telling that while he scored quite a few goals, precious few were matchwinning.
He didn't fit our team as well as Shaq who while not being blessed with that sort of talent, likes to press and he stays within he's role. Even though he's not at that level, he appears more balanced and consistent.

Hoping he does the other celebration he likes away in Belgrade.
