I've created a RAWK Head to Head league, always enjoy playing that format.

The code is 1001000-409795, join if you'd like a new challenge.

It's limited to 20 teams so first come first serve.

Strangely tempted by Solanke at 5.0. He has looked great in preseason and offers something really different. But I don't think he'll get a lot of game time yet, especially in the first few months.

Struggling to find a third choice striker for 6.0 or under.

Palace have been playing 343 in pre-season under De Boer. Van Aanholt scored a lot in a 442 at Sunderland so he could be a good pick.

Yes, good spot and good shout.

Only about 5 days til the season starts... can we pin this mods?

Time to start posting teams, and spending hours changing it!

               Hart foster

Kolasonic  Luiz  Cedric  Lascelles  Alexander Arnold

Salah  Pogba  De Bruyne  Zaha  Gross

     Kane   Hernandez   Solanke

Still have a million in the bank, will probably swap out Gross or Solanke.

My process this year was Coutinho, Salah and Firmino and then the rest. I wish I could fit Mane in as well  ;)

One thing we know is our attack will be good this year.

Abraham (Swansea) for 5.5? Scored a load in the Championship last season. I had him initially but have now got Firmino, Lacazette and Jesus so booted him out.

Solanke would be a good shout, based on pre season, he looks like he'll score goals but he's obviously behind Firmino and probably Sturridge at the very least.

Salah, Sane, Zaha, Redmond, Ritchie

Jesus, Benteke, Gabbiadini

Think you've spent way too much on defense and goalkeepers to be honest. Trippier is injured too.

I've ended up going

Foster/ Elliot

Davies/ Baily/ Yoshida/ 4.0/ 4.0

Salah/ de Bruyne/ Zaha/ Redmond/ Carroll

Kane/ Lukaku/ Abraham

It's really tough to tell with City's attacking midfielders. The only one I'm confident about is De Bruyne.

I'm going with this as of now. Might make a change or two if any transfers/injuries that happen by Thursday.

Forster - Ryan

Valencia - Cahill - Keane - Bertrand - Francis

De Bruyne - Alli - Zaha - Herrera - Romeu

Kane - Benteke - Ayew

My team as it currently stands. I've never been a big fan of spending too much on defense so I have stacked my forward line and midfield as much as I can.

Lloris - Federici

Rangel - Clark - Mee - Francis - Suttner

Pedro - Herrera - Salah - Willain - Carroll

Jesus - Lukaku - kane

This is the first season I'm trying something like this because I've found in previous years that I'm constantly transferring my goalkeepers in and out. So for example I would pick Courtois to play at home to Burnley thinking he will get a clean sheet, but then not fancy him to get one the week after against Tottenham away and also not fancying the cheaper backup keeper on my bench. By picking two good keepers, who for the most part are playing at home when the other is away, and vice versa, I can rotate them and save my transfers for more important areas of my team.
And if the rain stops, and everything's dry.. she would cry, just so I could drink tears from her eyes.

tend to just stick with a keeper

It's always best to try and make sure all 15 of your players play regularly or as near to as possible.

So for that reason I would consider having a few cheap options on the bench that do play...

Few tips for those that haven't played before (or those that want to try something new).

Only pick players that play regularly, even for cheap options bench options. Having players that don't play could cost you value, find the right 4m defender that plays and he could be worth 4.5m very quickly, money you can use elsewhere.

Try and pick from a wide range of teams. Should help keep your weekly points slightly more balanced. Ie if you've got 3 Leicester players and they've got a tough run, you could notice a points per game drop off. Also helps with bonus points.

Look for bargains. Any player that you think looks cheap in comparison to what sort of figures and seasons you would expect them to have. There's a few already, and many often occur throughout the season, Jack Stephens, Mawson, Fraser, all stepped up at points last season, returning good points for their value. Understudies are worth watching if the 1st choice becomes injured for a long stretch.

Go where the points are. I've never been one to spend big on defenders or keepers, I'd rather chase the big points that can come from midfield and most importantly up front. Especially for the forwards; having one capable of scoring huge points is key, ideally you want three. It makes your captain selection easier, as you can pick whichever one has the greatest chance of picking up big points.

Try not to waste transfers on keepers or defenders unless you can spot clear points over the medium term, or a player that can't be ignored, ie Alonso last season. But don't be afraid to spend points to accumulate them, I put Lukaku into my team last season vs Sunderland, cost me a transfer, but gained me huge points.

Value and form are key indicators, don't be stubborn if a team or player are showing great form. Jump on the hype and keep an eye out for when price changes come into play. Catch it right, and it can add value. The more value, the more money you have to spend. Which can be key in a season with 6 very strong teams with key players in each.

I've currently gone:

Hart, Federici.

Ake, Stephens, Dummett, Super Glen Johnson, Hunemeier.

Coutinho, Walcott, Fabregas, Ritchie, Aarons.

Jesus, Kane, Lukaku.

Midfield needs work, not sure on any of them for different reasons, esp for the first few GW's. I can see drastic changes, esp Walcott and Cesc.

Only a couple days left to sort it out now.. Boom. The season is nearly back.

A couple players i think are reasonably priced:

Begovic: Bournemouth have added a nice little spine this summer.

Hart: West ham should have a better season, Fonte Reid and Hart, good experience there

Ake: Great stats albeit a small sample size from last season, he scores too, as we know to our detriment. My first pick.

Dummett: in fact any Newcastle defender that will play regularly, I've gone Dummett as it seems he has the least competition, not sure who starts out of Lascelles, Lejeune, Clark.

Ince: hot form in preseason. There's a load of wingers with points scoring potential reasonably priced, Knockaert, Ritchie, Atsu, Redmond, Demari Gray, esp if Mahrez gets a move away.

Gayle: nice opening set of fixtures and he is Newcastles goals.

Gabbidini: Nice opening set of fixtures and he is Southampton goals.

Premium players to watch:

Walker, Mendy, Kompany- if he's fit, he's huge points. Moses now as a defender, Alonso, Cahill, Trippier, Rose, Milner now as a defender esp if he retains pens. VVD if he gets his move to us.

De Bruyne, Coutinho, Hazard, Alli, Eriksen, Salah, Mane, Pogba, Sanchez, Ozil. They pick themselves, but expect all to have very strong seasons.

Kane, Aguero, Jesus, Lukaku, Firmino, Lacazette, Hernandez, Morata. Same as above, all have a reasonable chance of 20 contributions goals and Assists. Some at a very minimum.

Yeah he did score quite a points few surprisingly. Maybe it was bonus point just for being the world's most expensive player. In reality, I still expect him to be rubbish this year.

Regardless, I don't have Mancs in my team because I'm petty like that so I won't be picking him anyway.

Oh, and I was going to say Sobhi would potentially be a decent cheap pick due to Arnautovic leaving but Stoke've bought Chupo_Moting now so I don't know if he'll start many games.

Yeah, Sobhi definitely one to watch out for. There's loads of young players with a chance this season, some may only be useful for a stretch of games, but loads that can score or create in patches.

I try and taken bias out of it when it comes to fantasy, which is easy at the minute as United haven't been a great source of points the last good few seasons now! Dour football under Jose, doesn't lead to many goals, can't see that number jumping massively this season, although Rashford will improve in terms of points (but not the right price).

Some great insights there Xabier.

Demarai Gray feels like he might be a punt worth taking, but Leicester have a bitch start, and I hate sub midfielders that come on for 20 minutes and more often than not get you one point (which in a sense is worse than zero points if they don't come on). I have £5.5m for my final midfielder, and it's him or Shelvey, unless anyone has any better ideas. The latter would play more, but gets more cards than Santa. I'd normally be tempted by Joe Allen, but I've gone for Shaqiri already and I don't want two from Stoke, especially as they also have a nasty opening.

Thanks.

I'd go Shelvey, esp for the start of the season as Newcastle have a favourable start minus Spurs. Shelvey is at the heart of a lot that they do, and they've looked positive in pre season. Gray is one to watch, but possibly for down the line, but he's got a chance of a breakout season, whether that equates to fantasy points is another thing.

Some great insights there Xabier.

Shelvey is a decent shout. If you can stretch to 6m, I think Ince, Knockeart and Ritchie might be worth picking too. Ince in particular could be a strong pick.
We have to change from doubter to believer. Now.
