All the comments over the last few days about taking a draw or a small loss has been blown out of the water.

Could easily be 3-3 but great to see Darwin finding some proper range before the weekend.

Darwin's just too good,knew he'd score that second as soon as he got the ball.

They have a number of quick and athletic players and attack very quickly from deep,would be nice for the excellent Kelleher to get a clean sheet but any win will do.

Could've been 7-4 to us this game.

Nunez finding some goalscoring form is just lovely. You can tell what kind of devastating striker he starts converting chances consistently.

Need to shore up a bit defensively though. They are finding way too much joy down our left hand side. Robbo is finding himself ahead of the ball and getting caught out too many times. That gap needs to be plugged sharpish.

For me they should have only scored one and that was when their player kicked it against his own foot with an open net. Kelleher’s job is to save goals and he’s done it brilliantly.

I’m sure! Very odd half of football; two teams at times looking really menacing, then seconds later all over the shop. Mac is some player.

Gakpo is trying much too hard, and it shows, Harvey started really well, and leads the press - I wish he wouldn’t continually cut inside on his left peg though, it’s making him predictable and it’s cost us possession a few times.

Weird weird match. A lot of players out there seem to enjoy turning into trouble in the midfield or getting to tight to their marker and easily turned.

I think a lot of what was on shown in defense is down to VVD being out. Endo is a bit of a concern heading into City. Looks so slow when the match because a track meet.

Weird half. Kelleher and Nunez have been excellent at either end - as has Mac in the middle but that generally goes without saying these days - but these should have had one at least. The difference in quality is very evident, and I think that third goal was massive in taking the tie fully away in the minds of Sparta's players.

What the fuck were we doing for the first 30 against their press? Endo and Konate all over the place. Macca and Diaz are on a different level to anyone on the pitch. Superb. Love Nunez and Gakpo's threat as the half moved on. Going to be fascinating to see how Klopp manages these subs.

This seems to be the norm when we play the champions of other leagues (outside of Spain, Germany etc.). They're used to dominating so try to take the game to us, do create some chances but ultimately take a hammering.

The tie is pretty much over 1/4 of the way through if we're sensible from here on.

Part of it is whilst the likes of Endo, Macca, Elliott and Gakpo dropping in are all very good players we lack legs in midfield. They aren't a great combination in terms of athleticism. We have ended up with a very high line when they have beat the midfield press.

Plus they are a very good counter-attacking team.

I think people are getting mixed up between luck and quality. At no time where we lucky apart from when their player missed an open goal.

We have better players and that means making more good saves, blocking shots and taking chances.
