We got 5228 there which is about 800 off the 10% that we’re meant to get for a LC away allocation.

If that’s the amount we get for the LC we should get around 7,800 for the FA Cup which is a 15% allocation.

They give us 5k last time in the FA Cup, what they keep doing to clubs is disgusting but they always hide behind "safety" coz us v Arsenal is such a vicious game.

Since 2018 we’ve had Everton at home twice, we had Wolves away in 2019. Was Wolves last year the 3rd round too? Think it was. And we had Villa away in the Covid season when they had to play their kids.

I’m actually over it already. Better to have Arsenal away in the 3rd round them say the 5th.

Win it and we get a massive boost and get rid of a rival. Lose and we forget about it and move on with hopefully an impending League Cup semi final, European run and title challenge. If you’re not going to win the cup, then going out early isn’t a bad thing.

And obviously if we do win it we’ll all be buzzing.

The only draw back is that there is less opportunity for younger players to get a game.

The people doing the draw were far more excited about Sunderland vs. Newcastle.

As it's an early round and both us and Arsenal will still be in Europe and (presumably) competing for the league title I expect it will be a bit of an underwhelming game.  I'm more disappointed it's an away tie than anything though - bloody Trevor Steven!

To be fair the European aspect is largely irrelevant given Arsenal won’t be playing in Europe again until February and us March.

Suspect that the semi final of the league cup may be more of a consideration for us if we beat West Ham.

With the title up for grabs, a European trophy in our sights and a League Cup semi if we beat West Ham, i'd say it's the bottom of our priorities.

I'd rather win than lose but we need to avoid a replay. It'd be better giving Arsenal the extra games with them and City already out the League Cup. Lose to West Ham and you'd put more focus on it.

That said we’re at the last 64 stage and 44 teams are Premier League or Championship so in theory Toure around twice as likely to get a team from the top two leagues than to get someone from lower down the ladder.

Most would probably disagree but they could look at seeding the 3rd round draw like they do the 1st round of the German Cup. It's shit if you're Maidstone and get Stevenage in the 3rd round or Eastleigh and you get Newport County away. There's nothing shitter than all-PL ties (or all Championship ties) in the 3rd round, it's always games that were league fixtures just a couple of weeks before as well. Marine hit the jackpot getting Spurs but 9 times out of 10 that doesn't happen.

Not like the same few teams don't win it every year regardless.

Probably more likely that they take it more seriously than us, if we beat West Ham. But also, considering the winter schdule...who the hell knows what the state of our squads will be by then

I've just looked at the draw for the first time properly and some of the dates will be changed . Us , Everton and Burnley all in London on the same day. Just for an extra giggle Morecame will be setting out early and take a right at Brum towards Swansea. Obviously they will be changed for TV reasons and our game will be one and the Newcastle and Sunderland will . The Lancashire derby I'd will be too.

Blackpool v Forest Green postponed as Forest Green may have fielded an ineligible player in round 1. Scarborough Athletic would be the beneficiaries if they did.

In contrast to Barnsley being kicked out for fielding an ineligibile player, Forest Green have been ordered to replay their first round tie with Scarborough.
