ferdinand 30m, anderson 17m, hargreaves 20m, rooney 30m- almost 100m on 4 players, worth more than our whole squad combined... missed finnan, alonso and agger big style today..... gerrard bottled it?? whoever said that should get off this site now... that man never bottled anythin in his life.... yossi. HK, Kuyt not up to it at highest level....... Kuyt's workrate is praised, if I got chance to play for The Reds I would work my bollox off.....United have been lucky last few years but credit their defence they defending like we would in big European games.... i just think we need a reality check when people say we spend money its still not a patch on man united......... had we bought nani and anderson for 35m we'd be slated.....

tarbs have faith in the boss. Arsenal slipped up against Borough and the are alot more teams up for it in the prem this year than last season. It can still be done. As for those managers wouldn't want em'. As reputable as they both are, I love Rafa the gaffa
hey i'm not going to respond to some of the other idiots who cant think of anything to say but F*** off.....but I'm sorry mate this Premier league is the worst for a lot of years, with only 4 teams of any worth and we are not making any impression...but hey, I think Rafa is the best we've had since Roy Evans.

No, jazz. You fear jazz. You fear the lack of rules, the lack of boundaries. Oh look, it's a fence. But, no, it's soft.

Personally, I think we played exactly as the Mancs wanted today - at 100 mph, and that's not how we like to play. I wouldn't say Gerrard let us down today, but he did dictate the tempo, and it was a tempo that none of our players (him included) can play well at. A bit like at Everton, but Rafa couldn't take him off today.

We didn't outplay them today, but we outran them - to our own damage. The only player to come out of today's game with a bit of credit was Mascherano - the only one capable of calmly stepping onto the ball and distributing it to one of our players. The rest was chaos - especially after they scored - kicking the ball in the general direction of their goal, shooting at first sight of the goal (including pathetic efforts by Riise with his right foot and Gerrard with his left, when other options where available) - essentially making it easy for the Mancs to clear.

What really annoys me is that their defence had a terrible day, but our lack of composure in front of goal let them get away with it. Once again they go away with three points from a game neither team deserved to win.

We're not out of the title race by a long way, but we now need to go on a long winning run, otherwise we will be soon enough.

Personally I think we've produced our best football at Anfield under Rafa playing at 100mph, beating the living shit out of teams. First half vs Juve, first half vs Barca, Arsenal in his first season, Chelsea last year etc. We played at a high tempo today but lacked any quality whatsoever and started making basic errors in passing the ball 10-20 yards. We just weren't good enough
It's wonderful, it's marvellous, it's 3-3

Things I hate when we lose games:

1. 606ers radio 5 live. Fans calling for Rafa's head. :no
2. Fans on here calling for Rafa's head. :no
3. People in general calling for Rafa's head. :no

We lost today, can't change it but we can get behind the boss. He wasn't at fault at all today, it was all down to the players. They have to perform better when it comes to such games.  ;D

cant believe im reading that some people think carra played well today! some people really watch with red tinted glasses! how many times was it back to keeper or long ball up the pitch from him. didnt look to build an attack or keep the ball from the back once. as far gerrard having a quiet game, very hard to impose yourself in midfield when the balls not passed about. was feeding off knock downs and scraps for most of the game spent more time looking to win the ball back from another hopeful long ball. never played to torres' strengths at all. how kuyt gets a game is beyond me, a pathetic player. play crouch or babbel up there. someone whos gonna threaten. riise gets found out week in week out but options are limited until we get a better LB. and i know its trivial but why does reina always look for that quick kick out since he managed to assist that once! losing possesion from it all the time!

at the end of the day i felt man u used the ball more intelligently when they had it. giggs was MOM from where i was standing and would have liked somone like him in a red shirt to put his foot on ball and take the game that was there for the taking by the scruff of the neck.

cant see a title challenge coming from us this season but hope im wrong...

Frankly Man City have just as legitimate claim to a title challenge and looking at the table we're now being dragged into a scrap for 4th.

Yep.

It's another season in the cups as far as I'm concerned.  If it were just Utd ahead of us by 9 points I would be a lot more optimistic, but with Arse, Chelsea and even City above us, we really do need to focus on securing fourth place.

After 2 points from a possible 9 against the top sides at home, fourth place is by no means certain.

This thread is hilarious.
The scouse delusion doesn't stop.
We will beat Utd home and away this season. Tevez and Rooney are not able to get into the danger areas as they are both link up strikers.

I think they are distinctly average this season.

Also Torres would rape Vidic and Rio.

They do a job on us every season and we've no antidote.  Bored of it.  Bored with sky & their grand slam.  Bored with losing to them.  Bored of them winning the league.  Which they will do so again because they've the best team and manager in england.

Only hope the Scottish bastard croaks it before they overhaul our league total.  But I don't think he will - they'll hit 19 before the decade's over - we'lll stay on 18.

Totally fucked off.  Write the script every year.  They're a great side - pity about their fucking support.

Wankers, but they piss all over us all the time.
