Federation kits ... i think people like it for the lack of sponsors, but imho, you really need to have the name and numbers on.

The design is based on the Order of Christ Cross, an iconic symbol in Portugal, was used in the discovery days in the "Caravelas" and the Portuguese FA symbol is based upon it also as are many other things (like the Portuguese Air Force roundel) blah blah blah - learn something knew every day.

can i hijack the new kits thread for a second to ask about an old kit?  i picked up an odd-looking brazil shirt a few weeks ago because i didn't recognise it but i can't find any mention of it on the web.

it's black and white halves (matching sleeves) at the front, with a black nike swoosh and the 5-star CBF badge; and a solid black back with kaka's name and number in gold.  do anyone of you kit spotters recognise it?  or is it just a fake?

Was it one of those kick racism shirts out? The dutch wore a version once against England.

ah, good shout!  i was searching for away/3rd kits so no wonder i couldn't find it.

it looks almost identical to this shirt (although kaka, rather than robinho):

however, it doesn't have the "stand up, speak up" message on the sleeve, so maybe fake.

quite appropriate that i should pick it up during the recent furore though :D

Is correct.  All you see now is parents whinging that big corporations have a responsibility to not force them into, um, parenting.

Aquilani is better than Pele, Maradona, Cruyff, Messi and Beckenbauer put together.

Hate to admit it, but I think that the new Man U kit is their best looking in years. Really smart and original. Arsenal looks very good as well.

I hope Warrior gives us something to smile about (not frown).

I got the Lucas thing wrong. Will be right on Henderson though. Play him RM, play him CM - Not good enough and never will be.

True, if it has red shorts with it, it might look pretty decent.

Although Nike have started doing long sleeve international kits on kitbag.com so maybe adidas might start?
