I read there’s a lab near the market, which has been working on corona viruses (true). Also, the Chinese ministry of science & tech have announced they will enhance the handling of viruses and bioagents (true), which some are saying is a subtle hint that it may have come from a lab (conspiracy theory) via an accidental infection (or on purpose depending on how extreme the conspiracist).

I wonder when the back lash from society starts. I see no one on RAWK saying they know someone with terrible symptoms and nothing from anyone I know of the terrible affects of the virus. I am wondering what will happen in two weeks when all of the initial procedures of staying at home and closing business and sports and real people will start to run out of money what the impact on society will be. When will restrictions on the rural parts of the country be lifted.

It isn't hard to see why conspiracy theories have sprung up. This whole restructuring of society to something that's gig services based with no physical contact, together with plans to give police power to detain anyone that's outside, is basically the totalitarian endgame. That and the usual theories connected to any widespread disease.

Fair enough. The main thread seems to add about 20 pages a day which I have not read in full. Oddly enough I did hear from an old college friend who is a language teacher in Italy who lives on her own. She has had the virus and at one point had trouble breathing. She stayed in her apartment the whole time. She is not an unhealthy person and it basically put her totally in bed for three days.

I personally saw someone in a mask coughing uncontrollably being led from one of the Uni of chester buildings. Not sure why they decided to turn at uni sick thinking the mask would mean it’s ok.

I was in a mood at the amount of reaction here and the hardship it will put on people which is why I posted in the 'not so serious thread'. Although I also know people in self isolation, I had yet to hear of someone who actually had it, other than celebs you see on TV.
I'm not saying anything is a fake and clearly Italy has some real issues but I just felt the action in my part of the world seems an over correction.

I did chat with my friend today who had Corona and it did affect her badly, so she was the first person I personally know to have had it.

It was a grumpy post about not being able to see when it will end and when society will be able to get back to normal and when the effects will stop.

It's all a hoax or a lab test to force through an authoritarian government in Western societies. Won't publicise by name but the person on the video has apparently been saying same thing about every new disease for about a decade.

Yeah, people have already started with the “all humans will be microchipped” stories, which we had after 9/11 and the swine flu. You watch, if and when a vaccine is produced there will be stories that the vaccines include a microchip. The conspiracy stories are as predictable as the panic buying, which is why supermarkets should predict the panic buying and implement limits sooner.
