Can anyone remember No One Lives Forever ?
It was the first game I played that had fucking great voice acting.
The game had a nice James Bond-like feel to it.
The humor was awesome !
It was great to play it stealthy just because you could hear the bad guys talking to each other.
It's one of the best games I've ever played.

And there is Deus Ex, that was great too.

^ I've played No One Lives Forever 2, which was great. As you sai, the enemy chatter is extremely funny.
Football without fans is nothing.

We've won 18 titles, 5 European Cups, 7 FA Cups, but today must be the greatest victory of all.

So here's a question, what non-RPGs have really good story?

We all can name a half dozen of our personal favourites for RPGs, but outside of that particular niche, i think the pickings become pretty thin.

Meh

ME1 was an RPG though, Mass Effect 2 and 3 are more action adventure. Like the dialogue options were stripped away in the second and third, you could talk to anyone in me1, but in me2 and 3 it felt more scripted.

Well, old-school adventure games tended to live and die by their stories and there are many out there with great ones. They just aren't very popular (relatively) any more, although there is a bit of a revival in the iPad/Android market given how well the touchscreen tech can work with the old point and click methods. I'm loving rediscovering some of them using ScummVM on my crap android tablet. Broken Sword 1 and Curse Of Monkey Island are getting a workout on there at the moment. I've even pledged towards the new Broken Sword game on Kickstarter, a globetrotting adventure apparently based around the mythology of the Christian gnostic texts discovered in 1945 in Egypt. Very Indiana Jones, TinTin or Dan Brown (as in pacing, puzzles and exposition rather than shit characterisation and dialogue). It's got to be more interesting than the usual repetitive shooty shite that people seem to lap up these days.

Apparently Majora's Mask has a very good and complex story as well, i never got far enough to see but from what i've read thats got some very dark subtle undertones.

Yeah, it's brilliant. It's one of those where the more you put into it, the more you get out of it. Great game.

Good one! Although I don't remember the story so much per se, the style of that game is brilliant
