Konaté, with an emphasis on the "e" is the correct pronunciation.

My idea was to build Liverpool into a bastion of invincibility. Napoleon had that idea. He wanted to conquer the bloody world.

I had a mates dad round ours for the City game at the weekend.

It is very fair to say that he struggles somewhat with the pronunciation of Szoboszlai.

"Sobslob".

Didn't quite know whether to laugh or cry.

And I thought Steve McManaman saying Sloboszlai was bad enough!
Rafa Benitez: "I'll always keep in my heart the good times I've had here, the strong and loyal support of the fans in the tough times and the love from Liverpool. I have no words to thank you enough for all these years and I am very proud to say that I was your manager. Thank you so much once more and always remember: You'll never walk alone."

Yep, but as a former French resident myself, when using French names in English conversation I subconsciously alter my pronunciation of French names to make them fit the general flow... not mispronunciation exactly, just modulated. Similarly, when speaking French I would even alter my own name, and Steven Gerrard (I lived there from 04 to 07 so he came up a lot) would be "zher-AR" or whatever. I kind of find overly-perfected pronunciation of foreign names almost as annoying as blatantly butchery. I think I have mental problems...

The latest episode in my podcast app is the Sparta Prague post match show. Surely that can’t be the latest episode? If not, does anybody know what’s wrong?

Stupid question probably but have you tried pulling the app Home Screen down to refresh it and/ or totally closing the app and reopening it?

Most recent audio should be the pre-match warmup.

Brilliant episode with Clive Tyldesley today. Though, not sure which was madder: how dismissive he was of Gomez starting for England or suggesting Southgate take over from Jurgen  ???

Suppose it shows how even for such a smart footballing man, how disconnected England fans are from Liverpool.

The Southgate shout was merely a hypothetical - asking Neil what the reaction would be. Clive didn't go as far to link Southgate for the job or even endorse it as a good idea.

Towards the start of the season, Joe Cole said 'Spozolai'. He's covered a number of Reds matches since, and I've never heard him try to say it since that night. I think he might be banned from talking about him.

I'll preface this by saying I think the Clive Tyldesley episodes have all been good, and he generally speaks well and is very fair-minded. He's definitely a welcome addition.

But wow, that Southgate shout was a clanger of epic proportions. I know he's just testing the theory, but still genuinely staggering that someone who knows their football would even suggest it. Fair play to Neil for not just going "wtf?" and instead giving it a long, balanced answer it didn't deserve.

I’ve never managed to get to a TAW Live show, however I’ve been to podcast live shows before. Recently went to the Football Cliches show and it was great fun. Sat with some mates, having a beer and watching some blokes you kind of know from a good podcast. Would recommend.

In-person format of something we’re used to being virtual. Refreshing antidote to last 4 years where we’ve gone the other direction!

I went to first half of their NYC show (was gutted to leave early - work related) and found it novel and fun. Little bit of uncanny valley after purely *listening* to the pod since around 2011 but would recommend

Been rewatching the recent “Liverpool’s next manager” series Neil and Josh Williams have done on the video segment. I suppose I didn’t give them the attention they deserved the first time around due to pinning all my hopes on Xabi.

Fantastic stuff, lads, really insightful and probably gives us a little bit of insight to some of the stuff the club will be looking at when making this decision as far as the on-field perspective goes. Would recommend if you haven’t already watched.

I've no idea what the appeal of a podcast live show is

It is actually hard to describe and promote really because we don't want to film them!

The whole point of our live shows aren't that they are a live version of podcasts we normally do where everyone listens quietly - it's not that at all, it's fun, there are jokes, there's loads of energy and we do talk about things we wouldn't necessarily talk about when recorded. Think over the past year with the various tours we've really refined them.

But for us a massive part of it is meeting and having a pint with subscribers/listeners before and after - we appreciate the support and it's been great getting to know the people in those cities/countries who keep us in a job by supporting us and often they've become good mates.

Soz for nitpicking, but is there an AI tool like Adobe Podcast being used on recent episodes to clean up audio? Perhaps for online records rather than in-studio?

Specifically on the latest Gutter (Ruben Amorim Liverpool's New Frontrunner) the voices are fairly choppy and difficult to listen to for me unfortunately.

Hope things pick up for you soon mate. I had that last season, we were diabolical for periods as well so wasn't even like it provided any respite. Things a bit better and calmer for me now which has also coincided with this season building up. Always a distraction.
That's really kind of you, Hij. Unfortunately, I've probably got a couple of years of the same before things get better. Jurgen's mighty Reds have got me through so far. Glad to hear things are better for you.

The United supporter on the Friday show is on the wind up big time. Talking complete nonsense. If VVD or Alisson were to leave they would go to a "bigger club". At this time there is only one club bigger than LFC and I can't see then going there. He is massively deluded.

I think it was a point about United’s lack of quality but made a bit clumsily. He was saying that players who leave United wouldn’t go to a big club but top Liverpool players would move “up” - which I think he meant they’d go to a big club as they’re still top players. His choice of language was a bit odd but I think I got his point.
