I’d be shocked if the Wilder and Parker fights didn’t happen. Can’t see Fury ever coming back though

Joshua wants to keep fighting here. I'm not convinced other people want to fight him and risk losing, especially away from home.

Pulev in spring then a late summer fight in Vegas against Wilder should be his 2018.
He doesn't have to fight Pulev

Takam took extra punishment while trapped under ref's arm!

Why is there a British ref in a world title fight involving a British?

That stoppage was British to me. Joshua didn't even land the last two punches and takam was still bobbing and weaving.

That he was gonna win anyway is neither here nor there for me

He's #1 ranked by IBF.

AJ doesn't want to give those belts away.

He wants the belts more than anything though and I reckon he’ll just offer too much money for anyone to turn down if necessary. They’ll crank up the pressure on Wilder as well if he refuses the fight, it’ll ruin the aura he has in America if he shits out

Povetkin and Hammer winner fights Parker,so that's one avenue blocked for AJ.

Takam was a mandatory defense as he was #2 behind Pulev. I can see the IBF being dickheads and making AJ fight Pulev anyway. And it's good name to have on your CV too.

Stopped too early for me, but I understand why he did it.

Takam swtill had plenty left I think.  He's one tough cookie and not shite as I posted earlier.  He did lose every round, but he well to get to round 10.

Only two real fights out there for Joshua, Wilder and Parker.  I don't think Fury will ever come back.

Then we'll have to wait for another rising heavyweight to challenge him I guess.

I dont think Parker will fight povetkin. He certainly won't in Russia. The drug issues surrounding povetkin just make it difficult.

Aj vs Parker is doable.

I think if he wants to fight Wilder it will have to be in the USA. US networks and Wilder would probably demand that. But Wilder sells fuck all at his home town never mind Vegas.

Didn't see too much wrong with the stoppage, I got the feeling from the way Takam came out at the start of the round that his corber had given him one more before pulling him out anyway. There's one very heavy shot Takam takes to the head before the final flurry that makes the referees mind up.

Takam is one tough bastard though and has made a career for himself as a gatekeeper now. He's also won me some money because I had 16-1 on AJ in rounds 10-12 :D

As for the IBF, they rate the other champs above mandatories anyway so if he goes for Parker or Wilder next he can skip it.

WBO are making that fight an eliminator.

Hammer is ranked #1 by the WBO and Povetkin holds the WBO international belt.

Povetkin's ban was a joke its should have been 5 years.

Excellent fight that last night, much better than anticipated....stopped at the right time, Takam was too brave for his own good and with his defences down could have sustained some life changing damage....as Bellew put it during the commentary he lives to fight another day

Have to say, I thought AJ looked decidedly 'meh'. He is FAR too big right now and that is messing up his stamina; he isn't able to throw more than one big barrage before getting winded atm!

AJ will face other tough guys who can take a shot and he doesn't need to be blowing out his arse halfway through the fight; at some point an opponent will be able to take advantage of an issue he should be fixing, especially since he has admitted that his stamina needs work. He is benefitting from a weak division at present but if he wants to avoid a shock, he has to trim down.

Btw, Whyte looked like ass which is par for the course. When will people realise he isn't that good? Helenius is an absolute pudding and still managed to hurt Whyte.

Why Wilder doesn't fight Whyte for a big payday astounds me.

He will take home his biggest payday ever and it should be an easy nights work.

$4 mil to beat Whyte. Dentoy should be on the first plane to London.

I don't think he is. For Hearn it's a win win. Wilder wins and the fight v AJ is set up. Whyte wins and a rematch v AJ can be made.

Spot on. It's clear what Hearns plan is.

Haye V Bellew - winner fights Parker.
Whyte V Wilder

If Haye beats Bellew then Parker he fights Josh
The winner of Whyte V Wilder fights Josh.

Think Hearn is serving up Whyte and Haye/Bellew to the other champions to introduce them to the British audience before he puts Joshua in with them.

Don't think the HW division is that bad to be honest. Throw Usyk in there when he's won the WBSS and I think it's pretty good.

Dunno mate. We have AJ who was close to getting KO'd against ancient Wlad, Wilder who has beaten nobody, and Parker who is pretty useless as HW champs. Who are the contenders? Druggie Ortiz, druggie Povetkin, Stiverne, Whyte, Pulev. That's no better than the list of puddings the K brothers dispatched IMO.

One thing I think AJ lacks is good foot movement. His feet are set an awful lot but not sure he can fix that. He came into the sport very late, with limited amateur experience.
