Doesn't it usually happen that we have no repeats in the first 19 games?
We are playing Arsenal for the second time in our 19th game while the 20th game will be the first one with Swansea.

No, it doesn't work like that.  It does in Spain, but not here.
I saw some journo had a guide as to how they're made (there's 'blocks' of fixtures, etc), so I'll post it if I can find it.

Quite satisfied on the whole. We don't have an extremely difficult run in and our fixtures over the Christmas period look reasonable too.

Thought our fixtures were decent, until I glanced at United's.

They don't play a decent side until the 8th game.

They only play one decent side in their last 5 fixtures.

They don't play one decent side between 12th December - 20th Jan (8 fixtures).

So they must have a very shit Feb & March

List looks a lot more balanced than normal. We normally have a really hard run somewhere (i.e. the start of last season) but that doesn't seem to be the case here. I think I like it.

Was hoping we'd play Spurs a bit earlier than October, they're usually very slow starters

Overall pretty happy with the fixtures, don't see a tough run of 4-5 fixtures on the bounce in that list like we had this season just gone by.

This run is probably the trickiest section:

August

26 - Arsenal (H)

September

9 - Manchester City (A)
16 - Burnley (H)
23 - Leicester City (A)
30 - Newcastle United (A)

October

14 - Manchester United (H)
21 - Tottenham Hotspur (A)

Our tough runs ended up being when we had a stretch of 'easy' games though!

Looks like they need to spread even harder.  :-X

I like having a midweek game. But 2 Cup games are killing us. Its time one of them is scrapped. This fixture congestion is getting ridiculous.

With how congested the fixtures look in October and December- we seriously need to think about exiting early this season from the League Cup.

Its caused us issues in the League with fatigue due to fixture congestion the last two seasons- I understand we want to win some silverware asap but I feel this will be detrimental this season.

Or we get enough depth to deal with competitions on all fronts, right balance of youth, players on the verge chomping at the bit and experience - just like Chelsea and Spurs did last year.

We have quite a lot of players on the periphery, Woodburn, Wilson, Ojo, Ejaria, Gruijic, Gomez, TAA, Solanke and even Origi to an extent. Adding some first team cover is essential though granted, but these lads are another year older and another pre season along under Klopp so I would expect them to do well in that competition.

Burnley at home aside, some tough fixtures after the Champions League games should we progress. And I'd say we have a pretty tough start to be honest - Watford under a new manager won't be easy, and we all know about Palace at home but that would be a good one to put to bed.

What I do like is that after United and Spurs we have a two month period where, if we're going to do anything this season, we can really get some momentum going.
