Example of how this would work: ”Why don’t you take out Putin? Can’t you do it? Is he evil? If he’s evil, why don’t we do it? He is not on our side, is he? So he is evil, right? Isn’t he dangerous?” One could ask five hundred questions like that. Eventually people will hesitate and Trump would then say let’s do it. Without understanding the consequences, without caring about them. So people would protest. And then he’d call people defensive, they lack courage, they are not willing to follow orders, they are bound by stupid rules, they are stuck in the past, they are working against him etc. For any normal person, the very first question is seen as stupid and that’s enough. Not for Trump.

The problem is that he is just so fucking ignorant.

Chad is the most potent military fighting force against Islamic extremism in the Saharan African region.

Chad is one of the USA's key fighting allies in the region. Wherever Chad sends troops, Boku and ISIS get pounded out.

Chad was in a wrangle with (Rex Tillerson's) Exxon over billions of unpaid tax. That was resolved in June.

At the end of September the (Tillerson's) US State Department put Chad on Trump's travel ban list.

At the end of September, Chad began pulling it's armed forces out of the likes of Nigeria, Niger and Mali.

A few days after that, four Americans get ambushed by Islamic extremists in Niger.

Trump says nothing for two weeks.

They always have one long part in the beginning and then after the first ad break the parts get shorter and shorter. Yeah, on top of Maddow's tendency to meander it gets frustrating. A lot of the youtube clips that have msnbc content but aren't directly from their channel are riddled with adverts as well, but for some reason I don't seem to suffer them watching on my phone - maybe because I disabled auto updates.

It's why, when the likes of Gorka and Bannon spout their ideological bullshit, I warn against people dismissing it. I don't believe it's random rhetoric for their base. They mean it. It's part of an agenda and they are actively pushing to achieve that agenda - and they have defacto political backing for it through Trump and a mute GOP.

There is a plan here. That plan might be being executed by amateurs, so it's taking time to gather pace, but it's on the threshold of critical mass and could do a serious amount of damage, even if it ultimately fails to gain control. The wounds it leaves will take generations to heal.
