thank you mate for your help. Much appreciated. My worry is that I have started putting the updates but now the laptop is dead slow. I have avast and malwarebytes on the system as well. I guess it is the price you pay.


Any specific reason why you didn't make the jump to  Windows 10?


I highly recommend it.

no reason really mate just had this laptop at home and am using it as a stop gap so as to not miss out on the end of the season. My xp computer died and am looking into a new desk top.
