What's clear now is Cross is an absolute certainty for the Premier League. Easily one of the best players in the world now.

Yes - I go every year( I live within walking distance of the Pally)
its a cracking event - we go with 24 and its become an annual get together/piss up for our group
its loud its boozy and its boisterous
Sadly its also full of the sort who only know the Soccer am chant book and so every year its the same chants - tables, stand up blah blah

That sounds great.  :) You must have had some great sessions. We were always going to do it and never got round to it.

Have any of you boys been to a PDC event or indeed the world championships?
Just wondered how loud the crowd are when you are there, booing, cheering or just shouting in general?

Same as porurescu, I've been to the Premier League in Belfast. Just generally people getting pissed and chanting the same shite. Not booing when players are going for crucial darts though.

Was there last week and basically this...

At it's best the atmosphere is amazing but when the darts is crap it decends into the usual shite pretty quickly.

Thanks. I'm going to try and go somewhere this year. Have liked darts since the early 80s and never been.

I've been to premier league nights, the players, the UK open a couple of times, the matchplay and the grand prix.

Premier league crowds are the worst, though this tournament has some bad ones too.

Was out last night so missed all the drama. Catching up this morning

1st off the crowd were a fucking disgrace. There is no justification for booing and whistling MvG like that. I'm all for supporting the underdog but that was targeted abuse. It is a double edged sword though. You can't make darts like tennis or snooker and you need the money but you can't be doing with the idiots.

Should say that MvG took it was a degree of class. He didn't rise to it and congratulated Cross in the right way

Still haven't decided on if it takes the gloss off an incredible run for Cross. It's been an incredible year and he must have secured a Premier League pick.

My personal opinions on Phil Taylor aside I hope Rob Cross destroys him (though I don't think that will happen).

I think 2018 is the start of a new era and not just because of Taylor retiring. Lots of players really under performing this year has left the door wide open for a new crop and I think tomorrows final needs to be a 'passing the torch' moment. Which is why I want Cross to win. I dont want Phil Taylor winning and riding off into the sunset thinking he's still billy big bollocks whilst no one can beat him.

Anyone remember Cross got the same treatment from the crowd in his quarter final against Dimitri vdb?

I don't know enough about darts and the politics but how come MVG got booed? Any particular reason?

I was supporting him because he's been my favourite since I started watching darts 6 months ago, I quite like his style.

Hope Cross does well in the final - incredible story.
