Unless you start from the premise that every player is over-valued, which is probably fair but an unrealistic position to take, he is hardly overpriced in this market. As for doubling their asking prices, that ship has probably sailed given how much they spent last summer.

I think he's a decent striker personally. Good for goals in the PL. Would have wanted him at Liverpool but he wouldn't suit the way we want to play. Price is obviously far too much but I think United will be getting a good replacement for Zlatan. I know his record v the top teams hasn't been great but he has had service from poor players in those games.

To be fair, Benteke scored plenty of goals in a struggling team when it was built around him, it's only when he was required to play a more expansive game when he came to Liverpool that he looked lacklustre, Lukaku is exactly the same, he wouldn't work for us, but worked well for Everton as he was the focal point.

I can envision Lukaku struggling against packed defences next season, his pace and strength won't be so useful when he's surrounded and his first touch isn't great.

He apparently does go missing against the top teams. But if you can consistently beat the fodder of the league you'll get top 4 quite comfortably. Only the teams with title ambitions need to care about the beating the rest as well Lukaku will make a great auxiliary defender when Mourinho sets up as if they were Sunderland versus City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs.

Lukaku is a very good player, and considering his age, the goal scoring numbers are impressive. He's easily worth 75m in this market, and I'm surprised Everton didn't hold out for more.

I don't think he's *that* similar to Drogba though, so it remains to be seen how well he fits in Mourinho's system. Drogba was a tough, physical bastard who reveled in making life miserable for defenders. Lukaku has the size, but I'm not sure he has Drogba's tenacity quite yet. He'll get goals either way, but will he make their attack better overall? Who knows.
