Don't forget Clark and McConnell!

They aren't senior midfielders. That was my point although I wasn't clear!

for our injury updates, they need to schedule an earlier start not a later one.  so much to get through.

It's indeed a crazy stat, but before people start flinging themselves off elevations, a little context.

The majority of those results occurred in the late 80's and into the 90's when the club started to experience a decline/plateau and no longer ruled Europe / the world, while last year's loss should need no real explanation given the overall disappointment of that season.

For the uninitiated, Forest were once a very good side so naturally the further back you go the more favorable their results become.

This side is toiling above relegation and we are top of the table.  If we each field teams that reflect our respective positions - more us than them - we should have no fear of coming away with all 3 pts.

Yeah, previous results matter very little, but do make for interesting stats 🤓.
The most Man Utd went unbeaten against us was 10 games starting with the 1996 FA Cup Final.
They also went 10 unbeaten in the early 1910s which was immediately followed by a 22 game unbeaten run by us against them.
Liverpool are 2 games away from equalling their longest unbeaten record v Chelsea which is 11.
Liverpool's longest v Arsenal is 14 from 94 to 2000.
Liverpool are unbeaten in 28 games at home v Forest

They aren't senior midfielders. That was my point although I wasn't clear!

I know, was a bit of comic relief from my side about the situation we're in.

Not that I wouldn't have faith in either of the youngsters to do the business for us tomorrow.

He does, not sure who with though.
He was pretty terse when saying we can't even think about tactics because he doesn't know yet who can play.

Our last two games were a league cup final and an FA Cup tie, then this weekend a league game and then a Europa game in the week. We've got like 14 players injured/doubtful/just returning and we're a few weeks away from an international break. So I can see why he looks pissed off!

Think that press conference just about summed up why he is going. He is tired, as he has mentioned many times now, of the same questions.
I get why that last question was asked, but still seemed a bit tactless. To paraphrase it, he may as well asked "how can you leave these young kids just as they are starting out?"
It was a bit like asking someone who just needs a break from life, and has to leave their family for a period of time, how can you do this?
The people of Liverpool are workers. This is not a rich town where everyone lives a comfortable life. They work hard for themselves, and this is what we at Liverpool like to do. This is the attitude we must all have.

Really could do with it being next week, need as many of the big guns as possible for next Sunday.

Still happy to hear Dom and Nunez look like they’ll be available tomorrow, with Endo and Robbo possibilities too

Him being back is so important. I know the young lads looked good midweek, but having a threat like him up front alongside Diaz and possibly Gakpo makes a huge difference.

I think tomorrow is a game for Konate and Van Dijk to handle their physicality. We might then have four full back options to select from depending on their physical condition.

Hopefully Endo and Mac can start with one other, as those two feel our most grown up midfield at the moment.

If we don’t want to risk starting Darwin do we go Diaz, Danns Gakpo and give the big man half an hour off the bench?

Something like:

 Kelleher

Bradley
Konate
VVD
Robbo

Endo
Macca
Elliot

Nunez
Diaz
Gakpo

...is eminently possible, with Szobozlai on the bench.
It looks to me as if we have signed another 'average' player. I'll hold back my complete opinion until I see the lad play

I feel that Danns deserves a start. I would like Nunez to be eased back into play in the second half. Danns first 55-60 and Nunez after that.

The manager has seen enough of him in training to have no issues chucking him into a cup final.  I think if he's got the legs to start a PL match, he'll be under consideration.  And he'll be a very confident player off the back of this week, which would help.

Just think in the absence of Jota, and at a push Salah then if Nunez can only be a sub (and maybe he’ll be ok to start) you could do worse than Danns’ energy for an hour before bringing in Darwin. Obviously could play Gakpo through the middle too, but seems to change the way we attack a fair bit when we do that.

Don't see Nunez nor Szobo starting. Danns will get the nod imo after his brace.

Do people actually think Cody Gakpo can start this game?

Even if he comes off at half time, that will be over 300 minutes of football for him in 11 days. Even if Nunez isn't quite ready to start, I would just give someone like Danns a go for 45 mins. Running Gakpo into the ground and risking yet another injury would be kinda stupid.

It was a bit like asking someone who just needs a break from life, and has to leave their family for a period of time, how can you do this?

They should hire a spokesperson who takes notes from playing staff. Give the managers a break from all this shite when they've got better things to be doing. Doubt the PL allows this though as part of the TV deals?

We're at the point of the season with so much to play for that some are going to have to just play. I imagine he should be able to do at least an hour tomorrow if not the full game, then he can get a rest in midweek where Nunez might come in for him in Prague. There's others who'll have to see a lot of minutes if we want to succeed in three further competitions from now until the end of May.

So yeah, Gakpo has to start IMO. We're getting weaker by the game and you can't really contribute to it by taking out a player who's still fit. Elliott is continually running his arse off but will have to go again, probably on the right of the attack. Perhaps an opportunity for Clark. Danns looks more of an option to bring off the bench for the time being. Have to remember as well, a lot of the starters haven't really been overplayed this season. Van Dijk has played one European game going into March for example, he's missed a couple of cup games up to now, too. Same for others. Providing nobody is overplayed during the internationals and men come back we should be relatively well set up for the last stretch of the season providing no new disasters elsewhere.
