Klopp always gave and gives everything, I fully understand him just feeling tired and not having the energy any more. What I don’t understand is the timing. Could have just announced it publicly at the end of the season.

Full interview. Told the club in November, guess it's coming out now as it's either leaked to geth ahead of it, or we need to prep/approach people and then it isn't going to stay quiet.

I didn't believe this when I first heard. I wanted him to stay for years decades..he is the best manager we've had in my lifetime and I can't see how anyone can live up to what he's done.

Actually devastated. Don't even know what to say.

To make matters worse, I'm booked in for an overseas wedding in late May, meaning no chance of being home for the last game of the Prem or Europa Final, or any trophy parades. He'll disappear and I won't even be there to see it.

Let’s hope we can use it as a catalyst to drive a great end to the season and see him off on a high.

With the whole back staff changing it’ll be a big summer. No obvious replacements really without a fair degree of risk.

I buy his reference to getting tired, it’s no surprise. I do wonder if there is anything in this related to a possible change in the ownership shape in the coming months?

He explains why now in the interview he would rather be up front and feel people deserve to know, that is all there is to it.
