No so spooky Beaker I think, seems so obvious an appointment, made even more obvious by the current off-the-field politics. Not that he would get involved in that, but with all the talk about assistant manager (pity about Gary Mac) think there's also a need for someone like Dalglish to just act as a wise old head around the place, someone who's been there and done it, someone that can have a word in the right ear (*cough* Gerrard and Carra getting too big for their boots) or motivate the players. He still does his weekly column in LFC, and AFAIK, has no other media commitments so I can't see why not.
