No its out since this morning, the first came out two weeks ago

 :butt

Forgive me, I've been out of the loop for two months.

Okay, well, I guess it's alright, was expecting a bit more cos I thought it was the first demo. Passing is slightly erratic and the right stick run needs getting used to.

Never heard a word that describes post-2006 PES so perfectly.

First demo was good technically (minus keepers) but just lacked a certain fun factor. Downloading 2nd one now.

To me, the players run a bit like retards, and they run in very straight paths and its hard to dribble around players, they also kick the ball weirdly and there touch takes for ever before they make a pass.

Just had my first match, an enjoyable 4-3 against the AI. If they can improve the goalkeepers (I'm sure I read they were planning to but I hoped that'd include the 2nd demo) then it could be a winner. That's from someone who still plays and enjoys PES 2011 though.

Think he keepers ARE far improved from the first demo...spilling everything for me.  Only played about six games before getting frustrated and waiting until today.

I've only played the first demo on PC, second one on Xbox 360. Not noticed a massive difference with the keepers, Julio Cesar made 1 save for me the entire match (a penalty) and let in 4 goals from 5 shots on target. Neuer spilled a few too and let in 3 from 7 shots.

It's hard for me to quantify how much better it is than the first demo though cos I don't think my PC is a very good gaming machine, it wasn't running PES very well even on fairly modest settings.

Will have a few two player games later on but it feels good, just hope there's further improvements on the goalkeepers on the final release/game updates.

Played the second demo on PS3 yesterday. Can't speak for XBOX but I always felt PES definitely felt different cross platform.

As for the second demo, love it. Can really see a noticeable difference between the two versions. The stiffness has gone and everything is blending in well. Still a few niggles with low shots from outside the box. The right thumbstick is much better and can be used more than once per run now. Just feels right to me despite its shortcomings in certain areas.

Still can't understand the tricks in this game.

The two football games are pretty similar in terms of tackling this year. Seem to be making sliding tackles outlawed which to an extent you can understand as they are a bit arcadey in most videogame interpretations.

Overall I can't see converts from either side this year, but Konami may win back a few people who didn't migrate to Fifa earlier in the series.

Maybe that was the trick with the demos, after all...release an intentionally garbage one to de-stablise the loyalists but then release a good one to imply a big step forward and consolidate the 'fanbase'.

For what it's worth, I was pleasantly surprised from the moment I first touched the ball on this second demo.  The players move more freely than on the first demo, the keepers have improved, and I like how the ball isn't always 'attached' to a player - allows for lots of deflections and so on.

One thing I did notice and like but was a bit of a shock was the freedom of movement after a loose ball. Usually it seems players automatically get drawn to it but on this one if you don't move the player doesn't move which led to frantic sprinting after realising.

The AI has certainly improved and the runs are much better.

I'm playing as Bayern vs Spurs and, being pretty crap at the game, I'm putting together lots of passes but never really working the space for a shot - as pressure builds my supporting full back gets higher and higher (got Lahm and Ribery working nicely together) providing a decent option - this is leaving me open time and time again to Spurs though, who are sitting pretty deep but leaving Lennon and Defoe high to counter.

Slide tackling is fine if you time it right but I'm absolutely useless at the pressure/foot in tackling - they should have kept last year's 'new' defensive system.  Hold up play with R2 + X works nicely but it doesn't feel as natural as last years X + Direction controls.

*Edit:  not really been able to tell yet but I hope they've fixed the crossing/heading - for about 3 versions of the game now, open-play crossing/heading has felt like a guided missile setup with no chance for the keeper/defenders.  All I've noticed so far is that Michael Dawson is pretty good from corners...but it'll take a while to get used to the open-play scenarios!

Based on the demo, I'd say almost every area of the game has moved on a notch from PES 2011. The keeper animations are awful though, the amount of soft goals they let in is silly and unrealistic.

Downloaded last night....

First impressions its ok, keepers can be suspect at times as ever! The 'team-mate control' function I really like, tricky in open play so far, but revolutionary at set pieces, scored a cracking header will Muller for Munich. Knocked the game speed to -1 and passing to manual and it plays really well. Just hope the final version is a bit more polished and fixes the bugs.

I'm quite happy with the balance of the passing - it was a concern I had from the first demo and then in a later post I did mention that there did need to be a balance between player ability and user ability...I feel we've seen an improvement going into the demo.

You have gone into the Data screen to turn the assists off haven't you (I didn't find this for the first days on the first demo).

Loving the 2nd demo.

A lot more fluid, movement is a lot better, feels sharper.

Very hard to score as well, the AI defence is top class I feel. Hard to find space which is how it should be.

Havent had any bother with the keepers as yet.

Miles better than 11 this, will deffo be buying it. Just finding it hard to make players run off the ball in open play.

Had a few games on the second demo so far.

Ball physics and goalkeepers much improved over first demo – same as what I saw at Konami before Gamescom.

I’m enjoying it but not loving it so far. If you turn passing assistance off, you do have to aim all your passes and the responsiveness is very good – you can build up good moves and your AI team-mates will make runs.

I’m still not wowed by the shooting which feels a bit random and floaty. It feels like if you get in certain situations and press shoot the ball will fly in on a pre-determined path, I don’t get the satisfaction that I aimed the shot.

Individuality is still a major strength for PES. Pick up the ball with Gareth Bale and you get the kind of difference you’d expect. Like small nifty players like Modric are great, as they can turn on a six-pence and find a little extra space with a good first touch (as they would in reality).

Haven’t mastered defending yet at all.

Looking forward to giving Fifa 12 demo a run out – I think shooting will be better but I have my doubts on individuality – which is key for me for Master League/Manager mode otherwise no point buying players or building a team is there?
