Liverpool Football Club have confirmed Jonjo Shelvey has completed a transfer to Swansea City.

The 21-year-old spent three years at Anfield after joining from Charlton Athletic in May 2010.

In total, he made 69 appearances for the Reds, scoring seven goals.

Everybody at Liverpool FC would like to wish Jonjo all the best for the future.

Shame. So much talent but so little athleticism. Decision making questionable too with the amount of tackles he dived into.

I'd be pretty confident we put a buyback in there and sent Jonjo off with the respect he deserves.

I often complain about his tackling and wayward passes and lack of athleticism ... but he is only 21 and has a big chance to make a name for himself at Swansea.

Will enjoy watching him grow.

Best of luck to him, for me he always tried a bit too hard, wanting to do a bit too much (long range shots and mis timed tackles). Heart always seemed in the right place though, hope he develops and has a decent career

I'm sure he'll develop into a very good player. Playing alongside Michu should really benefit him, might begin to convert his chances into goals.

He got a lot of time, played a lot of games for us, couldn't really see him particularly flourishing in Rodgers' side, he had a lot of opportunity and whilst the lad grafted, I always thought he was either a player in early development, or a squad player. We have essentially (nearly), swapped him for a more skillful and gifted player in Alberto, who scores goals and will probably flourish in our system.

The only real caveat is that Jonjo was English, therefore... Well, you know the rest.

Good business all round.

It's £5m before add-ons, rising to £6m being the general consensus.

There is a great player in there somewhere. Could be worth 20m if nurtured properly in my opinion. Hopefully we've either got a buy back or % of future sales in the deal

I reckon he's going to turn into a class player once he settles down, and sorts the rashness out in his play. Just like Gerrard in his early days.

I find it quite odd that Rodgers can't fit him into our system, but Laudrup can at Swansea.

All the best. He seems to have de-bulked as well, probably a good thing. He wasn't the quickest of players, but I remember the slimmer version being quicker than what he was last season.. If you're going to undergo a weights regimen, for a footballer it's absolutely key that you train the right muscle groups, and nothing more. I don't think we got it right with Shelvey previously. There's a balance, you undertrain and the correct muscles end up being weaker than they should be, the player doesn't get to hit top speed. Over - train, train unnecessary groups, that comes with its own risks.

I have to say though, that Ayre is doing a good job so far, we haven't paid over the odds for anyone and we've managed to get £23.5m from Shelvey and Carroll (no disrespect to either of them).

There's fitting into a system, and then there's being 6th or 7th choice in your position.

I've always liked him though, I hope he does well.

Can he though? Only time will tell if he'll fit in at Swansea or not.
