Atleast he's leaving on a positive note, same goes with others that could be leaving such as Dudek and Vladi.
It's wonderful, it's marvellous, it's 3-3

I'll openly admit a man who convinced me, this season, he could actually play and play well.

Thanks for this season Igor.
If Kenny Dalglish had simply played football for Liverpool he would be an Anfield hero. However, the fact that he managed the club to even greater success guarantees him the status of a legend.

I like the comment "Biscan will leave with his head held high...". So he should - he became a really strong member of the team. Well done, Igor. You won't be forgotten as one of the 2005 European Champions.

But it seems Rafa's plans are beginning to take shape....

Now, who is he going to definitely sign....?
Luis Garcia, he drinks sangria, he came from Barca, to bring us glory. He's two foot seven, of football heaven, please don't take my Luis away...Luuuuiiiiiissss Garciiiiiiia...he drinks sangriiiiiaaa....

Got to be honest i am sad he is off even though he is not good enough for our team.
He has heart and passion and loves everything about this club.
For me he is a legend not in the way of Dalglish Shanks etc but someone i will remember fondly and someone who gave everything for the cause but just came up short in terms of ability.  :wave Igor

Good ridance imho.

Yes he has had a good season and Rafa has worked miracles. He has turned more into a cult hero than a good player.

There is a lot of two-faced people saying they are sad to see him go.

I'm sure peoples opinions were different 12/18 months ago.

I hope he does go becuase we need to move forward and with players like Igor i dont think we can, but i have to say - he's a hero

That's not entirely surprising. If Hamann stays, Biscan goes. And vice-versa we can say.

Igor has improved immensely this year but he's still just short of what we need here at Anfield, he leaves a European champion though and, after last seasons exploits, his head held high. Good luck in the future Igor.

Anfield Exit for Cup Hero Biscan - taken from the echo
« Reply #21 on: June 8, 2005, 01:42:39 pm »
Igor Biscan'S Liverpool revival is over. The Croat hasn't been offered a new deal and he's available on a Bosman transfer, with Italians Lazio leading the chase. The 27-year-old midfielder played a major role in the club's triumphant Champions League campaign, enjoying his most consistent season since his £5.5m transfer in 2000.

However, his radical improvement wasn't enough to convince manager Rafa Benitez to prolong his Liverpool career.

Biscan will leave with his head held high following a season in which he finally showed some of the potential which motivated Gerard Houllier to lure him from Croatia Zagreb.

After a nightmare spell in defence two seasons ago, he was far more comfortable in his favoured central role.

His performances against Deportivo La Coruna, Bayer Leverkusen and Juventus went some way to restoring a hitherto blemished reputation, and the shy Croat even became a folk hero for some sections of the Anfield crowd.

Well we wouldn't have won the Champions League without Igor. His displays against Deportivo, Juventus and Bayer Leverkeusen were immense. Remember the defence-splitting pass which set up Garcia's opener against Bayer at Anfield? Or his heroic display in Turin?

Probably the right move by Rafa, but I'm gonna miss Igor. All the best, big fella.  :'(

Mate, Lazio are looking at taking him, they aren't exactly a small fry team. He had a super season this year and as much as Stevie G helped us get to the Champions League final. Maybe he's not good enough to help us challenge for the league, but he gave his all this year and leaves a hero.

At least he leaves on such a better note after the season we've had, every player leaves as a 'hero' this summer
