More likely FSG do not want news of Jones injury to get out there right before sale. Multiple billions of dollars could be riding on this.
Yeah FSG won't wanna take a haircut...

14 players are out for today's session in Al Wakrah, with those who started yesterday's game taking part in a recovery session.

@Madders10
returns to training following his rehabilitation, while @JHenderson is working indoors on an individual programme.

Thanks.  It only sounds like a minor injury which would be OK as far as I'm concerned - stop him being involved anymore with this damn tournament but not rule him out of being available for us.

Jota has travelled with the team but unlikely to be fit before February according to the article. Keita and Matip are fully fit though.

Liverpool forward Diogo Jota’s injury is ‘complicated’ and his absence is expected to be ‘long-term’, according to an update from injury analyst Ben Dinnery.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Dinnery admitted that Jota’s knee injury is a serious one and that he won’t be returning to action for a while.

The injury analyst said:

“With Diogo Jota, it is slightly more complicated and it is very much long-term.

“He will be going out to Dubai but that is purely just to continue his rehab, and for a change of scenery, get a bit of sun on his back, and psychologically it can be a bit of a boost to get away and change your environment.”

Knee injury? Thought he had a tear in his calf injury and due back around Feb. Klopp was always clear he wouldn't be back in 2022.

Yeah it's a calf muscle injury, obviously a grade 3 tear. Nasty injury but it didn't require surgury and he's travelled with the team to Dubai to continue his rehabilitation. How complicated could it possibly be?

Obvious bullshit.

Ben Dinnery is an anagram of Red Nynenib….which means WelshRed in Welsh…..
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

Getting to the stage where the conclusion might be that his body isn't up to it. Hopefully he grows out of it but it's really not ideal for his development,.

Far be it from me to stop the hyperbole, but we've not played for nearly a month and its our first training session since. A player who has missed a fair bit of the season through injury taking a lighter session maybe isn't a reason to start writing off his Liverpool career because of injuries.

Let's wait and see, I think people are a bit fatigued when it comes to injuries but it just sounds like a minor thing and the season doesn't resume for a few weeks. Hopefully Keita can stay fit for a period while other players return and rest.

Yeah good caution. That said, where's the hyperbole? 'His career is over' is hyperbole, it's 'getting to the stage where the conclusion might be that his body isn't up to it' is, in no sense, hyperbole. It's 'getting to the stage', it 'might be' the conclusion, 'hopefully' he grows out of it.  Along with a routinely accepted idea that injuries aren't ideal for a young player's development. After all he'd have played lots more minutes for us if he'd been available more. So that is a post couched in possibilities rather than hyperbolic conclusions. It might be a little more pessimistic than you'd like, which is fair enough.

But with any luck, it'll be a total nothing speculation on the internet and he'll be fit and sharp for the resumption of the season. There's really no reason he, Bellingham (in red) and Elliot shouldn't be main stays of the England squad by the time the next world cup comes around if he can stay consistently injury free over the next few years.

He's not even injured, he's just doing different training :D Which makes sense considering he had a stress 'fracture' twice already this season. Rather than 'oh god Jones is injured again, what are our physios doing, maybe his body just isn't up to it'.
