6th time European Cup winners song
« on: June 5, 2019, 11:59:22 AM »
Hi Everyone

This is to the tune of Ticket To Ride by The Beatles. I'd love it if this took off, let me know what yous think.

I think Iím gonna be glad, I think itís today
The Reds have gone to Madrid and blown us away
We won it for the sixth time
We won it for the sixth time
We won it for the sixth time
Dios de Madrid

The rest said playing the Reds is bringing them down
The Kings of Europe are back and wearing their crown
We won it for the sixth time
We won it for the sixth time
We won it for the sixth time
Dios de Madrid

*** 'Dios de Madrid' means Gods of Madrid in Spanish

I wrote a little song, inspired by our trip to Madrid.

As the merry month of May 2019 drawn to a close, around 70,000 Liverpool fans began a pilgrimage to Madrid where their beloved team were playing Spurs on June 1st in the champions league final.
With the price of direct flights and accommodation going through the roof, many of those fans got creative, planning routes all over Europe to be there.
The vast majority couldn't even get a ticket for the game, but that wasn't going to stop them.
They came by planes, boats, buses, trains, camper van's, van's, car's and some even hitch-hiked.
They came from far and wide to turn Madrid red for a few days. They slept on streets, park benches, airports and train stations.
Some didn't even know how they were getting home.
Why would anyone of sane mind go to all these lengths to be in a city where there would be 22 fella's kicking a ball around?
The answer is simple.

They did it for love!

Madrid

We donít know if we will make it back,

But weíre going all the same.

We know that we must make it there,

Itís our destiny.

We came by plane, by boat,

By bus, by train, by car, by van.

We came from everywhere

To make it here.

And now weíre singing in the sunshine

In this lovely square,

With Jamie, Ben and John,

Thanks to the guys from Boss.

Allez, hey.

We donít know if we will make it back,

But weíre going all the same.

We know that we have to be here,

Itís our destiny.

Turning the town red with

Boggy and the boys,

All of our banners unfurled,

Thereís pyro everywhere.

While Virgil Van Dykeís name is ringing through the air,

Oh what a sight this is,

Madrid is red.

Hey

We donít know if we will make it back,

But weíre going all the same.

We know that we have to be here,

Itís our destiny.

Mo gets us off the mark,

The boys are on the way.

Allez Allez

Allez Allez.

Weíre just minutes from time

When Divock seals our fate.

Weíre gonna take it home,

Youíll never walk alone,

Youíll never walk alone,

Oh no.

My boy and I

Are singing in a sea of red.

All of our dreams come true

Here in Madrid.

Jurgen and the boys

Are making history.

Letís talk about 6 baby.

Allez, Allez

Allez, Allez.

We donít know if we will make it back,

But we made it here today.

We know that we have to be here,

Itís our destiny.

Last season's song:"We're the mightly Liverpool we're going to Madrid"

Easy change to "We're the mightly Liverpool we won it in Madrid . . . and we made it 6"
