Liverpool is the 10th richest club in the world. Right now we need a manager who has competed at the level that such a club should expect to challenge at, in the semi-finals and finals of Champions Leagues and battling at the top of the league. We have done the latter just once under Rodgers, and that, as we now know, was because of Luis Suarez. Rodgers is not the man for the job.

Who would or will want to come in and take the challenge on of sorting this mess out?? Because it will be a HUGE task to get us back up to being a Top 4 club.

Rodgers has done nothing correct for over 12 months. He needs to go. Hodgson had no money and produced better

Yes, we need to start scoring more than anything. Always look like we can concede a stupid goal so it's essential we take our chances when they come.

That's ALWAYS been the case under Brendans management.

Did you watch the match?
Do you fancy being specific about how it was dreadful or how we played like a relegation side?

Okay, if you were to look at this game in isolation then fair one - decent performance, should have won but didn't, it happens. If it had had happened in 13/14, when we were flying, I'm sure you'd have seen plenty of people taking the positives from an otherwise disappointing result (drawing against Norwich at home can never be anything but disappointing) because there was real faith and belief in the team and a feeling that we were going somewhere.

But in the context of this season so far, and the back end of last season? It's nowhere fucking near good enough. I'm sorry, it's just not. I don't know why you're getting so wound up to be honest mate.

Sometimes we strive to make the connection because we have an agenda.

LETS FIND A WAY TO MAKE THIS RODGERS FAULT.

He's the manager. We are playing like shite and have been for some time now.

Four wins in our last fifteen league games - Newcastle, QPR and Bournemouth at home and Stoke away.

The manager is responsible for getting the best out of his players, and selecting the best team for each game. He hasn't. The onus is quite rightly on him.

I thought he had a good pre season, his aggression was something that we had missed but I think he has been poor since the start of the prem.
His control, passing and forward play of any kind has been well below par.

Either watch the games or look up his tackling and interception stats, I'm not going to try convince anyone he's a good player. It's there for everyone to see but because he's not scoring or assisting people think he's been a bad signing it's actually laughable.

I think he'll be gone soon, tough away games coming up and I think we'll lose them all and the inevitable will happen.

If we do lose them all we'll be in the bottom three.

Yeah it not like the last match in front of the standing Kop is it? Twatted them that day didn't we?!
If I remember rightly it was a very emotional day a bit like Gerrard last home game.

People saying Rodgers out need to have a look around and see what top managers will move to us or are available. We may have to wait till the end of the season before we see a change, I  can't see Klopp or Ancelotti coming near us.

The team selection to me suggested that he has been spoken to. A man with time doesn't risk an injury prone player like that. A loss would've probably been the end, fail to win against Villa and I think he might be gone.

Good point. Very surprised to see that also. Sense of panic.

On another note: how can a club at our level not realize that you cannot be a top team without a top goalkeeper?

Every summer, we spend gobs of money. Yet never do we seem to show any interest in a world-class goalkeeper.

Utterly baffling.

Last month, FSG watched their young General Manager of the Boston Red Sox leave in his 4th season as boss, two years after he won a World Series with them in his second season. The reason? They hired a recently fired baseball executive who is regarded as one of the best around. I don't think they're scared to do it here.

John Henry can make that call because he knows baseball. The concern is he doesn't have the knowledge/interest to make such a decision with us. It's not about being scared.

Honestly the more I read RAWK the more I want Rodgers to stay

That's because you have FUCK ALL expectations from the club.

You were pissed off that we played our best team vs. Palace in FA Cup last year.

You were delighted that we went out to Bestiktas to EL last season, because EUROPAA LEAGUE DISTRACTION !!!

You have openly admitted there is no hope and no chance to get back to top 4 and Champions League, because it's against "par" and STATSSS

No wonder you don't see anything wrong with the current form. You don't think anyone can do better...

May as well raise the white flag, give up, and happily accept that we're the new Aston Villa.

Has it occurred to you that we have dropped too many points at home that this is not just a one off

Looking at the games coming up:

Aston Villa  H
Everton  A
Tottenham  A
Southampton  H
Chelsea  A
Crystal Palace  H
Man City  A
Swansea  H
Newcastle  A

It's hard to see us getting more than 6 points the way we are playing. That's the first time that I have worried about our upcoming games.
Thing is, Villa is the easiest on paper but they always get something at Anfield.

Our midfield was shit, yet you highlight Moreno (playing in midfield) was creating chances? And is also a Rodger's signing.
Pretty sure Moreno played at Left wing back .

The point is simple .We will never be a good team that can challenge for top 4 without a decent midfield .
And after 3 seasons we still can't build a midfield that can even dominate Norwich at home .

Because of the few chances created by Moreno we are fooling ourselves we were great but in reality we couldn't even control the game against fucking Norwich .This is a team that amcan at best compete for 6-7th .
No wonder we stink if out in Europe

Starting with 3 centre halves at home vs a promoted championship team..

We got what we deserved.

BR needs to instil some belief in the quality we have at our disposal.

Today..,with how we setup-we were more fearful of losing the game than winning it.

For me,we shouldn't be starting home games against the calibre of Norwich with 5 defenders,

Rawk isn't the fan Base. I mean how many people are trudging back from the match on here? Not many id vouch.

There were boos at the end and plenty of match goers have turned on Rodgers. In fact many of the match goers were not as welcoming of Rodgers (probably because of unhappiness of Kenny's treatment) than the general worldwide fan base, in the first place.
Of course I could be wrong, but I'd say there be a fairly small percentage of the season tickets holders who would be genuinely upset if they woke up tomorrow to the news Rodgers had gone.

I wonder what happened to the NET spend argument from when Rafa was here.
Lovren 20million. Lallana 25million. Firmino 30million. Benteke 32.5million. Markovic 20million. Yeah Brendan was really a pauper ::) He didn't spend anything, FSG out etc etc

On loan, another masterstroke.

Kinell my heads been in the sand last 3 months! No chance of ever recouping that money.

I'm not trying to attack Rogers but I'm starting to think that the presence of a certain Uruguayan player may have skewed people's perception of Rogers' abilities as a manager.

At this point I honestly think we need to consider going another way. If Ancelotti, Klopp or Simeone are available I would jump at the chance. What worries me though is even if we brought someone else in would there be money available? This summer was really the time to do that.

I think most people would have taken being a point ahead of Chelsea at this point in the season

Not just that, only 2 behind Arsenal. If we had put away our chances, we'd be even with them ahead on goal difference. Yet people moan about the first few games like it'll be this way for the rest of the season. People claiming our fanbase being knowledgeable amongst others need to just visit RAWK to see if anything it might be the opposite.

We'd like to think that. But there is nothing to indicate that he is. Nothing at all to suggest that anyone at FSG cares about our trajectory, or about Rodger's failures, or that they want to move him on.

Disagree. They backed him over the summer, albeit with changes to who Rodgers works with closely at the club, and they're not really on a winner if they sack a manager before even Christmas. Hell, even the Hodge got til Christmas and there was still some disquiet about sacking a manager mid-season. They've doubled down on him to give him this season and I think he earned that. He'll be gone if it's a season of failure all round, and that's with our standards now at 'top four' and the odd cup. Shit result, nowhere near fully mitigated by a better performance because this was fucking Norwich, but at least some evidence that this run of form can be turned around if we get back to playing football. He's obviously running out of time to do that, and I'm not sure he's really going to get people back onside without some silverware at least now as he's pretty much used up the goodwill doing close to half a season of relegation results.

The fella in front of me leaves early whatever the result as do most others. And the boo boys, well that's nothing new. They booed when we were top of the league but drew to West ham.
Mate, I've got plenty of respect for you as I do most on here because at the end of the day no matter how bizarrely some show it we all want to see us winning and playing well. We all feel the same over the top joy when the net ripples and the men in red reign supreme.

But this isn't a RAWK vs matchgoers divide or consensus. The atmosphere at Anfield has been increasingly poisonous, it's worsened on the internet (whatever that counts for), and it has even worsened amongst the most sensible reds you can find between the lads on TAW or even the ever-positive likes of Paul Tomkins. I'd even argue the atmosphere within the club was very very poor at the end of last season by the sounds of things at the risk of being gossipy.

The decline is very real.

Lot of criticism of Milner but to be honest, who you have in front of you can really affect how the midfield appears. We have a muddled philosophy. In the side we play a lot of ball carriers and play makers, but very few runners. Milner is one of the work horses (Like Ings, Henderson, Allen etc.), yet he's being played in a position where he gets on the ball a lot and has to make something happen. What he finds is that he's got Coutinho, Sturridge, Benteke in front of him and Moreno and Clyne on the flanks, and Lucas behind. They are hardly passing options as all of those players are looking to receive a direct ball in order to knock it down or get it under for a quick turn  and shooting opportunity. It then makes it very easy to defend because all they have to do is go man for man and hope their guy sticks to our guy and then it's just football tennis.

If we want to utilise Milner, then we need to utilise his running. Put him in positions where he is making runs from deep or trying to get in behind, and us the players like Lallana or Coutinho to play the passes that'll play him in. Playing him as a CM or controlling midfielder is just tactically deluded.
