Watched the other day the clip of the old dear putting her basket on the conveyor, then him getting increasingly exasperated as she put it on the side and then started bringing the items over one by one. :lmao

That's exactly the bit that had me crying.  The old woman and the beans.

"Put the beans down love"

"She wont listen to me!!"

Alan (according to him) was even better at scanning than Tesco lifer Pat Bevin

I wasn't a huge Scissored Isle fan* but the Tesco bit is classic Alan. WTTPOML is better overall I think. I don't remember much about the book one.

I got the sense it was made to get some of the (admittedly brilliant) I, Partridge across to people who were never going to read the (a?) book, and as I'd read it already I think I was only half listening.

Always good to see Look Around You's Robert Popper though.

I watched Scissored Isle for the first time last night. Not sure why I never got round to watching it before. It was enjoyable to pass the time and the old lady in Tesco is brilliant but I didn't think there were that many other memorable moments. Overall 7 on 10.

Which series is it when Alan is in his car being filmed and spots his old schoolteacher in the street?

The guy is now a very frail old man on a motor scooter.

The camera still running inside the car you see Alan go over and is clearly shouting him down and bullying him on the street without fear of reprisal from an old man.

Typical Alan :lmao

Regarding the Gibbons brothers, I think the stuff they've co-written is brilliant and my favourite Partridge to be honest. MMM is the pinnacle for me, it's close to perfection.

Ah man really?? So many great moments. The Youtube comments from Lynn at the start, the whole Tesco bit, the stuff with the kids at the party (ecstasy pillette), Alan turning to give the guy a piece of his mind then kissing his ass when it turns out he listens to Alan's show, the whole Free-gan guy thing (CHAV-MAN!), it's absolute pure gold! TEN ON TEN!

Just found the clip on Vimeo.

Yeah it was his teacher Mr Cragg.  "Old Crag-a-toa"

He's pointing in his face and insinuating that the teacher picked on him

Alan says when he gets back in the car. "It was nice to clear the air"

There’s no important Monday night games coming up, are there?

Going of the cast list, it looks like they’re going fictional guests. Which is a plus point.

Has an Alan series been on BBC 1 before?

Mondays at 9.30. Sounds like that could be an old Crimewatch UK slot. Up yours, Sue Cook!
