I know it's not quite what you asked, but I replaced mine using a kit on ebay for about £10. Took all of 5 minutes as the ipod is just clipped together using plastic mounts and lasts longer than the original did.
It's really quite easy to do yourself, there's videos on youtube showing you how to do it.

Thanks gents,i might give it a go!
Just one question,do you need a tool to seperate the body of the ipod from the housing?

My kit came with 3 things - the battery, instructions and a little plastic pry tool to get the case open. From memory that was all that was needed. Honestly a doddle. It was actually harder to get the case closed.

Can anyone recommend any free games for kids that don't contain tricky adverts every 2 minutes? I always get  a game for my 5 year old and then next thing shes back on the app store getting a different game as an advert has popped up and the X is always very small/hidden.

I've got the CBBC games app which is good, needs to be more games like that!

With the kids Android tablets, I switch to airplane mode before they start the games to stop the ads, maybe try that?

Couple of options off the top of my head....

1. Log into your Son’s iCloud account using Google Chrome on the Honor 10 and you should be able to use either the Find My iPhone or Find My Friends functions.

2. Pretty sure Google Maps has real time location services these days? I’m sure you can locate contacts that way too.

You can get MS Office for an iPad, I've used it and its OK but not as easy or I think fully functional as Office for Windows.

I've a new Windows 10 device, which seems to be recognising my iPod in the Device Manager list but not when I open iTunes.  Both devices and iTunes are updated with latest software, and I've run the 'update driver' function.  IPod still working/syncing fine with the old laptop.  Anyone got any advice?  Cheers.

Anyone play ‘Score! Match’ the footy game? First to two goals wins. Bit Subbuteo-esque in that you have to ‘flick’ the ball to a team mate or to shoot. Quite addictive.

Got really addicted to that, but stopped playing as my old phone would drain too quickly

12 months free Apple TV when you buy a device at present.  I replaced my old 6S with the iPhone SE 2020 and the offer popped up as soon as I opened the app.  Looking at the current library, 12 months will be more than enough to watch all it's content, probably twice.  It does have Mythic Quest though, so there's that.

That's long enough mate, you could get through the library in a couple of weeks. You'd be insane to actually subscribe.  It's definitely 12 months now, just checked my subscriptions again.

Anyone else having problems with itunes not recognising a device? I keep getting that message when I try and connect my ipod nano, last time it wiped off all my music. It can't be the cables as it works on my iphone fine, I have the updated version of itunes and I have modified my apple driver as well. But it still won't recognise it?

Has anyone played around with iOS 14 yet ?  It’s quite a significant update, implemented a bunch of features Android have had for a while but refined them in an Apple sort of way.

The app drawer page is a bit clunky, iOS categorize your apps which is a bit hit and miss, but with widgets it means iPhone users finally have a degree of personalization.

No longer have a full screen call page, just a little banner at the top which is more than welcome.  The phone also now notifies me when my watch is fully charged.

It’s still only a beta, but I’ve yet to encounter any serious bugs, it’s rumored to the GM, with a full release due within the next ten days or so.

Buy a kit and do it yourself.

Replaced the battery on my phone and it was really simple. Loads of videos out there showing exactly how to do it.

Press and hold the sleep/wake button and if there’s a medical ID setup you’ll be see who the owner is, rather than selling an item that doesn’t belong to you.

iPadOS 14 drops the WiFi constantly..  irritating.

The first update was supposed to cure it, it’s better but still happens.

Ffs!

Look up the next of kin (hold the button on the side). If that’s not set up, hand it into the cops or apple. Selling it on is shite behaviour to be honest.

I’ve got a Coolreall 20000 mah power bank I’ve had for four years, can charge up to 3 separate devices from usb inputs. Still works well. Not sure if it’s still available but if not there’s probably an upgraded version or something.
It does seem you sometimes need to get lucky with these things but not had any issues with mine in the 4 years I’ve had it. Only thing I would say is it’s a little bulky so although it will fit in a big jacket or coat pocket it not something that would fit easily in a trouser pocket.

I bought a decent Anker power brick and braided cable,  both are still going and I bought them nearly a year ago. Got both from Amazon.

Can anyone explain to me what in the fucking hell is that steaming pile of unmovable shit called ‘App Library’ that Apple introduced in iOS 14’? Some random mess of folders that duplicates all apps and sorts them by some insane, flawed and blind logic. It can’t be edited, removed only ignored unless you swipe too far. Who is this for? What problem does this solve?

They attempted to copy something android had a decade ago, but at the same time make it ridiculously locked down. I mean, you can't even edit it.  I always have an iPhone and an android handset,  ios14 is so backwards its not funny.

Some will defend it though.

I haven’t used an Android phone in my life, so have no reference for what that abomination is trying to be. But looking from my perspective as a user that keeps everything organised in one screen, no bullshit apps I never use - this thing is like punishing me with mandatory clutter. Even if I had 100 apps - how would that solve my problem in any way that I couldn’t already do myself by making folders?

It’s terribly disappointing just how lazy and unintetesting Apple design is these days. It used to be user first, now it’s just rammimg shit down your throat without even making it optional.

Just got a new iPhone SE. I had a new iPhone in 2012 and since then I've genuinely only had used handsets.

Looking for some recommendations now in terms of protecting it. I'd like a slim and unfussy case if anyone knows of a good one? Also what's the deal with protecting the screen, is it best to go somewhere and get that protective glass put on it?

I'm like you, I only have essential apps and like things nice and minimal. Parts of this iOS almost force you into a cluttered phone. I think I will grow to love the widget feature though.

Be careful with the screen protector as most advertise as SE/8/7 compatible when the SE's screen is ever so slightly curved,  you end up getting a halo effect.  You need one specially designed for the SE.  I bought mine from Amazon, a company called Omoton, they fit perfectly and come with a little framing tool to help application. I wouldn't go to a shop as most are unaware of the sight difference.

As for the case,  I use a Spigen rugged Armor, which despite the name is quite sleek.  I also have a Spigen Tough Armor which is more protective but bulkier and a Ringke Fusion X which is probably the most stylish but it left the faintest scratch on the back.  All three were £14 or under.
