1mb means 1 megabit and not one megabyte does it not?

1meg will get you around 100kBps whereas 3meg will get around 300kBps
you are talking in bits not bytes, 8bits to a byte

I don't know, this has confused the fuck out of me now. Now I don't know who I am or where I live.

I'm on a 1Mb link and I got 980kb/s. If you're on a 3Mb link shouldn't you should be getting download speeds of about 3,000kb/s?

980kb/s should be equal, or close to 98kB/s.
I don't know, this has confused the fuck out of me now. Now I don't know who I am or where I live.

It's basically small k and capital K thats confusing ya i think.

I'm on Sky Broadband, costs a fiver a month.

I'm fairly happy........considering I don't know what the fuck any of it means  ;D

As it happens, I think thats the lowest upload I think I've seen, but again what you don't know about, you can't worry about!

Does anyone know if O2 Broadband has anything to do with Be Un Limited?

O2 own Be.

Ah ha!

We were on Tiscali, but changed to O2 at the beginning of last week, suddenly the DSL connection stopped this evening. Then when it came back on I did a speedtest because Tiscali had been so crap, and the new speedtest said we were with Be Unlimited.

It looks to me as if we have signed another 'average' player. I'll hold back my complete opinion until I see the lad play

It really depends on how far from the exchange you are, how good your isp is and other factors. Post your line stats from your router if you can access them.

Could anyone please tell me what the average download speed would be for a 12meg broadband.

should be looking at 1200kB/s, which is 1.2mb/s.

do the test and post a pic of what speed your getting. aftre you've run the test theres a few different boxes with the word copy beside them, copy the one that says something about forums.

Hi, in theory you should be downloading at 1500 KB/s as you always divide your download speed by 8 which in this case is 12meg. Hope this helps :)

fo

The above one was just before i phoned Tiscali to find out why i was only getting 1Mb

This one was after my phonecall

But my question is why  has the I.P Address  changed. ( Sorry if it seems a silly question but my curiosity often gets the better of me0

Also there seems to be no change in the upload rate  ???. Thanks

Any of you have any experience with CITRIX? work have started to use it for remote (on site / home) working.

I get about 5meg from a 'up to' 8meg line normally, but when connect into the office server through CITRIX, it drops down to less then 1 meg!!

Is it that shit, or is there a setting in my router / laptop / company server that needs changing?

Personally, I think its just shit, just wanted to know if anyone else had any experience of it.

(apologies for highjacking the thread)
THE TRUTH?

Lord Justice Taylor's official inquiry into the disaster disparaged The Sun's story and was unequivocal as to the disaster's cause:

The Taylor Report stated that official cause of the disaster was the failure of police control.

I guess that's not bad since the server in Frankfurt is 200 miles away. The one in Malmo is closer but comes out slower.

Internet is slower in Spain :(
