All of our midfielders except Lallana have scored and all of our defenders except Robertson have scored.

VVD has really picked up his scoring game in the last couple of months eh? At this rate he's looking a decent bet to finish 4th behind the front 3!

LFC Top Scorers in the 38 Game Era (League Goals Only)

32 Salah (17/18) (All time 38 game record for all clubs)
31 Suarez (13/14)
28 Fowler (95/96)
24 Torres (07/08)
23 Suarez (12/13)
22 Barnes (89/90)
21 Sturridge (13/14)
21 Salah (18/19)
20 Mané (18/19)
19 Owen (01/02)
19 Owen (02/03)
18 Rush (89/90)
18 Fowler (96/97)
18 Owen (97/98)
18 Owen (98/99)
18 Torres (09/10)

2 games to go.

Congrats to Sadio Mané, he joins Barnes, Fowler, Torres, Suarez, Sturridge and Salah to become the 7th Liverpool player to get 20+ league goals in a 38 game season. I don't think any other club can match that number?

Also, this is the second time in the 38 game era where we've had two players on 20+ league goals in the same season, 13/14 being the other time. I might be wrong but I think the only other time this has happened in English top flight football has been Chelsea in 09/10 (Drogba and Fat Frank).

You’re right on that last stat. Sky showed a graphic for the times it’s happened in the Premier League era and Newcastle has Cole and Beardsley in 93/94 in there too but that was a 42 game season.

Yeah I thought that would be the case. I did a quick sanity check on wikipedia to make sure Rooney didn't cross over with Ronaldo, Berbatov or RVP, which were the only other 38 game PL seasons I thought might be have another duo, but wasn't sure about the two rogue 38-game seasons at the turn of the 80s/90s!

Only Salah and Suarez have scored 20+ in more than one season (38 games). I thought Fowler managed it, but the first season was 42 games. Owen never scored more than 19 league goals ... all of which shows how special Salah and Suarez have been, but Salah did it in his first two seasons with us. Amazing achievement and it's absolutely ridiculous he hasn't made the PFA team of the year or POTY shortlists.

Say whaaattt? 2 crucial goals in 3 minutes against Barca from the bench! Gini (or 'Rigi) for prime minister! No Salah? No Firmino? No problem! Cups are not won by the team with the best players. They're won by the players ON THE BEST TEAM!  :wave

Interesting. It did deflect off of the defender, but so did his assist for Gini's first against Barcelona. Oh well. 16 assists is still outrageous and combined with Robertson's 13 our fullbacks provided 29 assists! That is simply unreal production from the two of them.
