dont use them, but i would fully investigate any banklink service before using them. its easy to get crap links, its the good ones you want primarily.

Trust me, it's a really good service. The backlinks are really good, contextual backlinks from a page with unique content, it isn't a spammy profile link blast, but instead focused link building. Having very positive effects on my sites.
These are the days when I hate the world, hate the rich, hate the happy, hate the complacent, the TV watchers, beer drinkers, the satisfied ones. Because I know I can be all of those little hateful things and then I hate myself for realising that.

Sounds good.. Be sure to check up on your backlinks too, just monitor them with MajesticSEO or some tool like this..

A few points perhaps either yourself Conman or somebody else can help with.

However, on the 11th of July the title was as follows:

<title>Coeus Audio Visual | The AV and IT Specialists</title> This is a much neater title, and would recommend you use it. Or use it with Audio / visual specialists, which ever is a better term to rank for.

Just out of curiosity how did you find this information out?

Description:
You have no description listed, well you need one.. use the same technique i mentioned up above..

I'm using wordpress and as part of the all in one SEO they provide there is an obvious box for the description on the homepage but not for the individual pages, can you point me in the direction where i can make the description for the individual pages (assuming you're familiar with wordpress)

Breadcrumbs..
Breadcrumbs on your site would be great, google loves breadcrumbs as it assists navigation. Breadcrumbs are the nice internal links that appear on your page, It helps with your internal linkage. So helps google bots, and helps your google Page Rank. Breadcrumbs are an optional feature, i wouldnt focus on it too much, it might mess up the aesthetics, it might not. I think it would be good.

Where can i get a standard HTML code to introduce my breadcrumbs?

There is various breadcrumbs plugins you can get for Wordpress which will do what you're after. :wave

- Google Cache.
When you query in google, you see an option to view the cached version. When in there I can check the source code by rightclicking on your screen. The current cache will soon expire, and we wont be able to see that old title.. but if you change it, we will be able to see the now current (then past) version for a period of time.

I'm using wordpress and as part of the all in one SEO they provide there is an obvious box for the description on the homepage but not for the individual pages, can you point me in the direction where i can make the description for the individual pages (assuming you're familiar with wordpress)
- I don't have enough experience with the "all in one seo pack" to advise, but i would have assumed this option is available, as its simply vital for SEO. Maybe Kerrant has experience with it?
- I can certainly find out for you, but will wait to see if you get another response first.

Where can i get a standard HTML code to introduce my breadcrumbs?
- see Mikuss's answer.. :)

Thanks Conman, breadcrumbs are up and running and i'll need to work my way through the descriptions but i've established how that can be done now.

good stuff..

EDIT:

<title>Projector Installation, Interactive whiteboard installation, Audio Visual Installation</title>
- not a good title..

You should have your brand in there, and you should optimise your key feature, or best keyterm (dont stuff keywords in)
The home page is not a page that you should be looking to rank multiple different things you sell.
Sure you can mention them on your homepage, but it wont work by stuffing the title with these terms.

You would be best having a title more akin to this:

<title>Audio Visual Experts | Coeus Audio Visual</title>
or even better:
<title>Coeus Audio Visual | The AV and IT Specialists</title>

Your brochure is a good example of SEO in practice: http://www.coeusaudiovisual.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/CoeusEducationBrochure.pdf

The laptops section only talks about laptops, projector installations page only talks about projector installations..
Same applies for the website.. So TITLE + DESCRIPTION for each page only talks about whats on that page.

Google Adwords question here - I'm having to pick something up at work that I'm not too clued up on...

What's the difference between all the different search criteria you get when setting up keywords. I'm just trying to interpret some results we've had an need to know the difference between the following:

Imagine the keyword is Liverpool Football Club!...

Liverpool Football Club
"Liverpool Football Club"
[Liverpool Football Club]

Cheers!

Liverpool Football Club - Broad Match
"Liverpool Football Club" - Phrase Match
[Liverpool Football Club] - Exact Match

In short, Broad Match just looks for any of the words in no particular order. Phrase Match will look for all of the words in that order but will also include results with other words before or after the phrase. Exact Match is exactly that, only those words, only in that order and with no other words either side.

Resurrecting this thread, hows everyone's SEO efforts coming along?

I've just started my SEO blogging website, i'm probably going to start building up a little portfolio soon too. The website is still in development, so it doesn't look fantastic yet, so give me a little time to get the house in order.

Will book ark that and keep an eye on it.

Been doing a lot of development on a personal magento store, and even though its not fully live yet the SEO work I've put in is seeing it get some great rankings in some of the search terms which are heavily searched I didn't expect to have a chance with!

I'd definitely consider Magento if you are doing so, once you do some work on it to optimise it fully it is a really good piece of software I have found.

Saying that mine isn't truly launching until next week (took ages for Sage and Evalon to set up the CC processing and merchant account) so is only based on 2 or 3 months of development work on it and not day to day living with it running so I may change my mind yet  :-X

I am playing with my websites SEO.  Just installed Google Analytics and it seems to be working fine on the face of it when I'm running a few basic tests with a few devices I have.

After reading articles on SEO I have been looking at my competitors SERP's and adjusting my page titles accordingly to try and be a bit different.  As such have changed my page titles quite a few times.

My question is:  If I change my Page title does google have to then re-index all over again before i show on SERP? Even though I've just changed a few keywords etc.

cheers

Google will recrawl the site fairly regularly and pick up changes then make adjustments to where you rank for particular terms.

However just changing your page titles wonít necessarily mean youíll rank for terms within them. Certainly not well either. As they are a fairly low valued thing these days.

Hi Craig

Yeah just been on google search console and see my site pages was last crawled on March 31st. Made loads of changes since them

I've requested a re-crawl of my pages.  I'm in a queue apparently.  Just like I will be on the M6 later going to Southampton :)

So if its not keywords in your page titles, what are the crawlers looking for to get you higher up the SERP?

There are hundreds of things to be honest. From high quality content (both in a sense of being well optimised and well written) to links to your site from relevant and high quality sites to creating content which is seen as unique and relevant around the keywords youíre looking to rank for.

Itís a bit of an art form!

Your best bet is to optimise your site as best you can (so content, page title/description, and other on page seo), optimise your content around specific keyword phrases without keyword stuffing (different pages should aim for different keyword phrases), and then build content that will get shared and linked to.

Yeah back links and stuff come with time Craig. So does improving my content and getting shares etc.

I think I've got a grip of the SEO total basics which is fine by me for the time being and I appreciate high ranking on the SERP really does not happen overnight (unless you are very very lucky) and comes with time.
