Have seen this article in various of news outlets... No major newspaper has yet to pick it up though.
This was us. Nine of us landed into Naples at 22:25 on the Tuesday, Checked into hotel at approx 11:30. Went the bar next door and started drinking first pint (never finished it). We had a group photo taken by the bar owner and literally two minute later scooters everywhere, chains with padlocks belts. Proper shithouse behaviour.

Were you lot on the EMA flight there and back? Recognise a few faces from that photo and one lad had a few bandages last night

Went with flight options for this one,got bus to port area, then left to it,loads of bars around there, the one about 12 of us sat outside, within 5 minutes an ultra spotter turned up,after watching us & on his mobile phone all the time,2 of our lot walked over & asked him what the problem was, asked the lads are we ultras & did we fancy it,lads said no ultras here mate just having a drink & good time...after another 15mins on phone just dissapeared...
bus journey to ground took 2hours 10 mins no i'm not kidding, also window smashed in on the way, brick or bottle not sure...
Got into ground no name check on ticket,no passport check & still with my belt on...
After match kept in for 1hour 10mins with no LFC official in site...
no problems on trip back to the airport, only because police & army everywhere...
Not what a football match should be about...Sorry

We went with Sport Options and had absolutely none of this.

No trouble or any sign of it where we were drinking and eating up the first road from the port.

Long journey to the ground but all OK, we were on the first batch of coaches to leave. We were searched and checked

When we came out of the ground for the flight back the purple tabard visiting supporter stewards were clearly in sight for us and directed us straight to the Sport Options coaches

Amazing that we had such differing experiences, all about different timings I can only assume mate

Yeah all ok now. Few cuts and bruises. The lad with maroon shirt on (right hand side) had two stitches in his head and two in his knee but was back at the hotel with medication within an hour of it happening. Everyone ok now though.

They are absolute cowards they way they search out away fans. Now we've played there, I'd like to see LFC just ban the so-n-so's from the game at our place. I don't want to see any "revenge" acts which, as you can't trust UEFA, would see us punished more any other team, plus were better than that.

How long did the so called 20 minute buses take?

Ours took 90 minutes, we went at 6:40.

The police escort was a joke, and them giving out out bottles of water then onto a bus with no toilet was a master stroke. Must have circled the ground at least 3 times. Literally the whole journey back after we got off the bus we had cars stopping trying to pick fights and then as we was going into our hotel. 2 lads with in colours walked in at the same time as and a car pulled and launched bottles at us. Very nearly hitting a passing couple walking their dogs.

plus were better than that.

Are we?  In the 2010 return leg it was kicking off all around the ground, fighting at the turnstyles and everything.  Heard a load of Napoli were battered by County Road, although I didn't witness that bit first hand.

Inside the groud the atmosphere was the most intimidating I've heard in modern times.  Loads moved to the wing of the Main Stand to be next to them.  There was a real mentality of, well they didn't discriminate about who they battered in Naples so we're not going to.

I don't expect it to be like this again, but I wouldn't be shocked if it was.

Hopefully isn't anywhere near that game. I missed the last Napoli away which sounded like a lot more chaos, but I guess due to the extreme policing this time around the incidents were a little less frequent.

That said, should never come down to this. If clubs/police need to actively warn fans travelling to a country football match, surely that is enough cause for some sort of punishment or ban? It's not like it's isolated incidents. It's across much of Italy.

Back home and ready to go again for today - comes round quick. Reflecting on an odd trip in Naples.

I'm glad to be home. Yet I enjoyed it towards the end. It took me about 3 days to relax into it and to 'get it' a bit more. It's noisy and chaotic - everything I'd read really. With the tight streets as well, all feels a bit on top of you.

There are police around, but they don't seem in much control - not many European cities you see with kids (under 16) with no helmets on riding around. It takes you by surprise a bit, because it feels more like an Eastern country, than a Western developed place.

There's no money there. It's a working city. Nobody seems one bit bothered about making any of it 'clean and new', which gives it some charm and problems at the same time.

The first days were Moody with a capital M. Honestly it just didn't feel nice or comfortable and I don't think it was all in my head. The days after the game it felt much nicer. The city itself, the churches, the underground parts - I visited most - and it was great. Amazing food as well. Them sfogliatelle things I could eat all day.

The surrounding area like Vesuvius, Pompeii and Herculaneum were brilliant to visit.

What to say about the travel to the game? Well I think some credit is deserved - this game and Rome - you honestly can't fault how many police and how much effort is put into all of this. You feel safe - though you feel less like they're protecting you, and more there to control you. It's all a bit too much, but then if the alternative is we're left to ourselves I'll take this every time. I'm not sure why these European clubs think we're all 'ultras' - time has moved on but they don't seem to have caught on that Liverpool (or any English club) have that type of fan anymore. Just normal working class people there to see the footy, a few sights and a drink. I don't like being made to feel like a dangerous criminal - I'm just going the footy. Not sure what can be done?

I got to the meeting point around 5:15 - well - got there at 5 but waited near the wrong coaches till I twigged on. On the coach at 6:10. Circled most of Naples and arrived about 1 hour later at the stadium - inside for about 7:30. Not too bad considering. Was glad to be in the ground and was maybe lucky to get on the earlier coaches. Journey was fine, as was in the stadium. A strange away end this was - flat, quiet. Shite game. Thought their fans would have been louder. They didn't seem arsed early on.

Also - nice one to whoever at the club put water/crisps on. It's a tiny cost and effort, but goes a long way. (Not sure if those on the 2 hour coaches will fully agree!).

I think with the coaches - it was always going to take 1 hour - the route is like a dual carriage way, and avoids city centres and obvious places for issues. The problem is if they tell you it will be 1 hour, people won't go on it - but by saying it's 20minutes and then being 1 hour and more, it winds everyone up. If you've done these trips for a while, you just sort of know to expect it. It needs some work though - otherwise people will just avoid it in the future.

LFC stewards - only saw them at the meeting point? Didn't see one inside or outside the stadium again. Always concerns me that does - would prefer more faces. A confusing wait for over an hour after the game with no communication. Honestly it's not hard to just let people know and treat people with a bit of respect is it.

Coach back - miserable. Packed.

Then after all that-  just left to run the gauntlet I the city- because the taxis had all gone to those on the first coaches.

That walk was not pleasant. More taxis next time please. Back at hotel around 1:30.

Not sure if I'd recommend Naples to people or not. It's not an easy destination.

Where we off next. Belgrade isn't it. Can't wait.

There were loads of LFC strewards. They were the ones in the purple bibs.
I only got the coach about 10 mins after you and as soon as I got off at the stadium one of our stewards was directing us up the ramp. There was quite a few of them as went in.
During the game 2 were stood by the upper exit inside the stand. After final whistle louds of people went and packed the exit during the hold back, so I assume they were on concourse or by buses.

As we exited the stadium there were a whole line of them in purple bibs as you came down the ramp, directing people to sports options coaches or the city ones.

I thought their presence was more noticeable than other games. Surprised you didn't see any
