Scottish football was a lot stronger back then so Ferguson's achievements were clearly more the ole. But I'm sure he's won stuff. I suppose he is the most successful coach there is , if being a united legend is a must have.

If they want an ex Utd player who’s won stuff as a manager, I think Blanc won 4 or 5 French titles, and one of those was with Bordeaux.

Man Utd have taken 145 penalties overall in the division to 69 faced, the biggest such difference in the competition (76).

I’d say we’ve had more against them than most if not all sides they’ve faced though? Gerrard has taken 5 at Old Trafford that I can think of (scored 4). There’s also been the Murphy winner there, Redknapp’s in that 2-2 in 1999, Fowler scored one in a home defeat So that’s at least 8 we’ve had and I’m bound to have missed one or two others.

Milner’s a couple of years ago in a 1-1 draw after Pogba decided to play volleyball.

Their equaliser was a mile offside but not given.

Put this in the Everton thread by mistake. Getting them mixed up now and I suspect that's not old age, just that they're blurring together.
This is the (bizarre) reason Woodward is sticking by Ole:

Average age of the team that started against Newcastle was 25. They aren't as young as they let on. Only one of those players is younger than Trent, for example.

Both Woodward and Solskjaer have separately said it’s “insulting” people questioning the recruitment. Ed in his staff speech and Ole talking to Neville for Sky. I find it interesting they’re both using the same terminology. Don’t think that’s a coincidence.

I get the feeling the 2 of them are battening the hatches for each other. Maybe they both feel the sack could be coming from above. Hope not, I think they’re doing great work.
