With respect to all you like them, I just don't get Robin Williams and Billy Crystal, it's actully painful to watch them try so hard and not to laugh at all.  On this same thread add comedians that people just do get that others find funny,
I don't. Buy the tomatoes with. The stems. On them. They don't. Degrade. They go. Down the sink. And into the water. Then. They get lodged in the throats of little. Otters.

Any of the Chris Rock shows or Eddie Murphy's Raw - classic!

EDIT: And the 2 Richard Pryor DVD's - even tho the second one was a bit short!

Anybody see ross noble last night? That was funny as fuck, when he was going on about jesus with an exploding face ;D and he says "welcome to deaf class.  Nobody can hear you scream!" :lmao
She keeps getting texts off him saying "Oh please take me back, I love you and I'm still not over you". We read them together naked and then we laugh about it. Then she blows me off.

the one in the black case is shorter but I reckon it is funnier - but the one in the silver/gold (depending on edition) case is ok.

if you haven't already got it make Bill Bailey - Part Troll your next purchase. oh and there's 2 new dvds available from ebay i'd reccomend;

Bill Hicks - Outlaw Comic (a documentary on american tv that's been put on dvd, some rare unseen hicks material on it)

Bill Hicks - Live (which is one night stand, relentless, revelations and the just a ride documentary on one dvd). original dvd, not a copy.

went to rawhide at the royal court last night for my birthday. really enjoyed the compere a geordie ginger buddy holly lookalike by the name of alfie joey, very funny and worked brilliantly with the audience. Stewart Francis is playing in december "ooh i could crush a grape!" nah not him the american one who's frequently on jongleurs :D

Yeah i'm off to see them next month, was it good then?

I just saw Stewart Lee out of Fist of Fun and this morning with Richard not Judy. Absolutely fucking brilliant but don't go if you have any semblance of religion about you.

Not suprising really though as he was the producer of the "Jerry Springer musical" that was closed down by those c*nts from Christian Voice.

went to rawhide again last night, my view on the comedians:

compere: chris cairns, laid back, naturally funny man (the type you could go for a bevvy with and he'd have you in stitches all night) at ease with the audience, confident and some good material as well as some nice adlib.

1st comic: brendan riley - expected him to be really funny as he is resident, and quite high profile but was all in all shit to be perfectly frank, had one good joke; saying he's a bit dumb regarding politics, the war (big understatement going on his material) but he was reading a newspaper which said 'SUICIDE BOMBERS STRIKE' i thought "cheeky bastards!"

and that was the highlight of his set. the rest comprising of doing an impression of a scouse james bond which was pretty fucking insulting and perpetuating scally stereotypes which annoys me, and sending in a hen party from huyton to interrogate sadaam hussein.

comic 2: silky - good reputation and i'd seen him compere at  the head of steam before. decent material, own inimatable style, a bit hit and miss but mostly hit.

headliner: stewart francis - seen him lots of times on jongleurs and was my reason for going last night. canadian, very laid back, excellent timing, extremely funny but didnt seem to go down to well with the crowd, set consists mostly of one-liners such as "i went into the library the other day and said i'm looking for a book called 'how to cope with rejection without killing' do you have it? similar style to steven wright but imo funnier.

It was just when he put the context of America as the schoolboy bully with his tiny mate Britain supporting him when he beats the shit out of Iraq to make sure every other little country tows the line, with Cuba and Venezuala circling them telling them they're out of shape.

was very dry and sarcastic in style, cant remember what the bit was about but pretty sure it was an official video (looked like it was done in a studio rather than a comdedy club too).

p.s - you discovered Bill yet? if so pass on the word to your compatriots ;)
