I tried that train link last night but it was in a weird language so I swerved it. Ive read on travel forums its best to book at the station in Budapest.

Budapest- Belgrade trains can be booked here for anyone looking:
https://www.mavcsoport.hu/en

That's the link for the English version of the Hungarian train site  (remember to type 'Beograd' in and not Belgrade as it won't come up.)

It's 15€ for a ticket, whether you buy it now or at the station the price remains the same. If you get the sleeper it's a further 8€ for a placee in a 6-berth couchette or 10€ for a 4 berth.

We're on the Sunday night sleeper from Budapest...Bring it on!

Bloody hell, weren't Arsenal's a tenner or something in the EL last year?!
That price is for all 3 matches, I expect that we’ll end up paying about £20.

Booked this one today - flying out to Amsterdam on the Monday, night in Dam then out to Belgrade Tuesday morn.  Amsterdam to Belgrade still quite cheap.

be prepared for a +8 hour train journey from Budapest to Belgrade with a stop at the border. Take  a sleeping carriage in the overnight train and get some kip.

I am going to book on the Sporting Options day trip now.

Will just miss out on getting a ticket through the club, will have to hope I get lucky before I go or over there.

Yep. I always go for the overnight option if possible so most probably will travel on the Sunday night. From Lviv to Kyiv I shared my cabin with a Ukranian fat bird who snored.

I was thinking about trying to catch a game on the Sunday in Budapest as they have seven teams in the city. Most probably will end up getting bevvied and trying to find a wife though. If any of you havent been to Budapest be prepared to see some fit women. It was my fave place until I went to Kyiv.

Great city innit.

Was there in 2004 after flying to Berlin and hitching and jibbing the odd train now and then.

Berlin - Bratislava - Budapest - Timisoara - Bucharesti - Varna - Plovdiv ( Rodopi Mountains ) Sofia - Belgrade ( only for a tiny bit ) Praga - Dresden - Berlin.

What flight are you on ?

The only thing that may change my route to Belgrade is I have a friend who is back in Timisoara ( Romania )  and his brother in law who I know from work in Liverpool says he says I can visit his family in Timisoara on route. The lad back in Timisoara use to live in Anfield and loves all things Scouse so a bit tempted by that being honest.

We’re thinking of going via Timisoara. Haven’t booked yet, but flights look cheap and it’s only 90 miles from Belgrade.

I can only do two matches before xmas, so Napoli at home and I'm considering this, but haven't decided yet.

it was a artical on ESPN I read can't find the link. they had a 2 match home ban before the final qualifier against Red Bull but appalled against it afterwards and won. it got reduced to one game which they've served with the 2nd match suspended for 2 years that will come into place if any issues during that time

I think he was talking about the away allocation within Annie Road, which the club willl defo sell to Liverpool fans, as it will be extra £££ for them.

Club officials isn’t it?

You’ll never have zero away fans as the clubs entourage are there. Directors and the like

They didn’t have any day to day fans in the ground

There was like about 16 fans and they got put in the centenary posh bits I think.
Unless I’m misremembering they scored and it was very weird.

https://www.facebook.com/COPA90/videos/229763521228774/ - dont know if this site allows facebook videos.

Anyway Red Star fans waited 20+ hrs to get tickets for CL games, a good old fashioned window sale. Gonna be a cracking atmosphere there. Sadly not able to go, but atmosphere in Serbia is something special.... hopefully wont be too hostile for travelling support.

New member here, both Liverpool and Red Star Fan. Don't live in Serbia anymore but try to keep up as on whats happening there, so wanted to give you some advice before you travel.

Don't take this as an official advice, I can only state what was happening historically, this is new realm for Red Star to be in Champions League.

1. As far as I know there is no bad blood between Red Star Fans and Liverpool. There are countless Red Star fans that truly love Liverpool. (Me being one of them)
2. As far as the crowd troubles go its still there but to much lesser extent, especially at the stadium. I can not remember last time there was an incident in European Match that involved massive fights and troubles. Most of the fines that Red Star incurs is because of the Political Messages that fans have towards the UEFA and World.

Historically you will be placed in a box. usually they reserve between 5-10k spots for visiting team. you will be very well protected there, if there is any sign that visiting fans might be in trouble, there is plenty of Police reinforcement on the standby around stadium, and they will be there before someone can even breach the first perimeter of security (this is more for teams that fans have bad blood against). Police takes security of the visiting fans very seriously. They will place  you on the southern sides to move you away from the North where the Ultras are. Now as far as the East and West goes, you'll probably be fine even in Liverpool Jersey (There are always idiots that just want trouble, can't speak for those), but honestly I would stay away from the North, they expect you to cheer, stand, and sing through the whole game, and there are known incidents where even Red Star fans got in trouble on North because they didn't sign, or they sat down, etc... Just as a precaution stay away from North,  you never know who you might run into. It's not England, laws are not there yet for the North Side.

As you arrive in Belgrade, stay in Groups, avoid secluded areas while wearing Liverpool colors. Again my understanding is that Red Star fans have no bad blood and will not look for fights with you, but as a precaution stay in tourist places. There will be plenty of police on the game day to keep an eye on situation.

As far as the ticket prices go, the price listed here was for the set of 3 (All 3 games in GS). Not sure what they'll charge you guys.
