my thoughts for what they are worth.

I think calling people scabs for going is a bit much.  Maybe some are but maybe some live in Hull and don't know about it.  I cant say but I get pretty much all my news from the internet and its not hard to imagine someone living in Hull who doesn't read football forums thinking they finally get a chance to see the reds. I wonder how well a protest would have been observed had the match been a crucial title decider ?

As for Rogers comments.  I really want to like him . i really wanted him to succeed but i cant help compare what he said to what shankly might have. Aligning football with socialist politics, playing to bring joy to the people . I dunno,  Rogers missed a chance to reaffirm Shankly's ideals and made himself look less a man of the people and more another corporate man.

Just a couple of things.  If he "doesn't know too much about it" then he should have fucking well found out.  And since the right to peaceful protest is enshrined in law, whether Rogers "respects" supporters rights to protest is neither here nor there.  If that's the spin the press are putting on that load of cack we got off very lightly.

And the first sentence makes no sense.   ::)

I'm not saying what Rodgers said wasn't a bit weak - it was the lionising of Steve Bruce and his big fat head for saying the same that I found strange.

There are many land mark moments in cultural history when many claim to say " I was there!" ...Dylan going electric...The Pistols at Manchester Free Trade Hall.....will this be the first to say "  I wasn't there"?

Btw folks, normally nit picking and infighting starts well into a revolution....say maybe its a bit early to start pulling apart the nature of support...this needs publicity and momentum whatever form it comes in...whether it meets Politburo standards we can decide further down the line and take the appropriate 'little black book' action!!

I'm no Steve Bruce fan but "football does belong to supporters", "they are the lifeblood of football";
"we give something back to the fans" and so forth might have done the trick.

Wittering on about right to protest and "I don't know too much about it" isn't the same at all Al, and a couple of terse sentences from a man usually stricken with verbal incontinence is what I found strange.

But its the distancing from the supporters coming from a man who was - what - gonna fight with his life for the club, the supporters, the dogs in the street and the pigeons on  the Pier Head when he first rocked up is what really pisses me off.

Anyway.

Sod him.  A bloody marvellous job by all concerned.  Terrific stuff and very, very well done.

:wave to you to. In that paragraph I said id admit I was wrong if it makes any difference. A few mentions in the media is not making a difference. Come back to me next season with some facts over whether prices of tickets for football matches have dropped. At the minute nothing had been achieved. Got more media coverage than I expected it to I'll admit that but as I say until ticket prices drop it's not achieved anything.

I think everyone, including the organisers, understand that this protest alone was never going to achieve anything. Clubs aren't going to look at a boycott by 1000-1500 fans for one game and suddenly cut prices in half. This was only one small step that we can now hopefully build on in order to get ticket prices reduced. Maybe in a few years we'll look back at this as an important piece of the jigsaw that saw ticket prices get cut.

What's the point in that first dose of chemo if you're not going to be cured straight away. You may as well roll over and die. And until you're cured, I'm going to brag that I know you're dying.

I'm sure someone has posted this elsewhere but i'll put it in here:

Important information about ticket access 2015/16

Dear Member,

As a valued Member and supporter of Liverpool Football Club, we want to make you aware of some changes to the Club’s Membership ticket access for the Barclays Premier League 2015/16 season.

There will be a reduction in the number of tickets made available to LFC Official Members and Supporters’ Clubs as a result of General Admission seat loss at the Stadium.

The reduction is due to a number of factors including a new Premier League TV deal, which removed access of around 400 seats from use this season (2014/15) and the ongoing Main Stand expansion works, which will see the loss of around 540 seats.

Tickets for our category A and B games in the 2014/15 season were initially on sale to Members who met the necessary criteria, having attended 14 games during the 2013/14 season. Next season (2015/16), the initial number of tickets available per game will reduce from an average of 9,500 last season, including those tickets made available via the Late Availability sale and the initial sales criteria will increase to 15 games.

In addition, the Club does expect around a further 750 tickets to be released for each game as part of the late availability sales, which will take the overall total available, directly to Members, to approximately 9,250 tickets.

LFC will continue to use game purchase history to sell to Members and intends to use a similar sales criteria to the one used this season (2014/15), for the coming season (2015/16). The summer Member’s sale will take place during week commencing the 6th July 2015.  All sales will take place online and full selling details will be released in due course.
Either we are a club of supporters or become a club of customers.

Yep, another kick in the balls to lads who go nearly every week. Went to 14 games last season, even when we were shite? Tough luck, stuck with the same chance as that bloke who's never set foot in Anfield.

I'm on 16 so i'm fine, but one of my mates who's been going for years is stuck on 14. There's a reason loads of people who've been going for years are falling out of love with the club, they need to get their heads out their arses and remember who's still there through thick or thin

Yeah, I'm knocking it on the head, not renewing. Lower league football for me next season.

This is easily the most disillusioned I've been with the club in my life.

Literally not even Hodgson's tenure made me as apathetic as this season has made me towards this great football club.

Well that's a big overreaction. Everything seems really glum after the last month, but Hodgson, Hicks and Gillette were in a different league to our current situation.

Just seen this, me and my bro get to about 10-12 games a season (availability and money permitting) and yet again we're gonna be thrown in to scrap for tickets with all the tourists/first timers, nice one LFC. Fair incremental credit system? Nah fuck off you can get stuck into the free for all with the rest for an even smaller amount of tickets.

No chance I'm gonna be renewing his season, just so fucked off with it all. You can have yer halfie scarfie wankers with their iPads and SLR's, not for me anymore.

You're right, I hadn't scrolled up and read the post he was referring to. Fair enough. Another disappointing development.
