Had a look at the news surrounding the squad and it was set for a lot of activity, even before his arrival. An opportunity to reshape the squad straight away at a club below the 'elite' is a good fit for Rafa, as long as the various parties from the president down can come together.

Be interesting to see the tactical side of his teams now, in an era where completely not risking goalie build-up leaves you with around 30-35 % possession.

Have always had a random soft spot for Celta Vigo, based on nothing more than thinking their name was cool when I was a kid. Will definitely be keeping an eye on them more now that Rafa is in charge - he's still a very solid manager when he has owners/fans who aren't a toxic mess, so let's hope Celta Vigo are more even-keeled.

I'd be amazed if Rafa ever goes to a club that doesn't have an unstable owner, it's just the way he rolls  ;D

Best of luck Rafa, hopefully the fans there really get behind the project.

Don't really watch Spanish footy, but i'm tempted to watch the Celta Vigo games now. Think he will do a job, probably get lamps instead of tables there but still. See if he can get the crushing machine going again.

Good luck Rafa.

Maybe worth Gerrard going there for a few months to gain some experience with a master.

Should be confirmed soon per the Echo. Curious to see his recruitment work, they've been very good overall at Napoli and Newcastle, even operating under constraints.

Edit: Looking at the Real Madrid list,  Casemiro stands out, yet Lucas Vasquez, Kovacic and Asensio have also had very good to great careers there and elsewhere subsequently in Kovacic's case.

Been keeping tabs on his work at Celta - team structure was there first pre season game v Ronaldo's Al Nassr, some decent inherited players who fit in his tactical scheme to build with but work still needed possibly at centre back and goalie, signed Jonathan Bamba (free transfer - lille) and Dotor (Castilla captain, around 3 million euros). Bamba's  a wide attacker, Dotor plays centre mid.
Linked strongly today with Matija Frigan of Rijeka, quick, skilful 185cm + player who can play any position in attack, very interesting prospect. Potential star, if he can avoid injuries, be used properly at his next club.
