Yup, coming along nicely. Each player is among the greats of their position, in the Premier League era. And Sterling a future great.

Delighted with both the picks. With Bale, Gazza and Waddle in the team I can pick Jozy Altidore as a striker and goals still won't be a problem.

You do know that you've picked the Gazza that played for Middlesbrough and Everton, right?

Along with Gullit, Barnes, and Weah. I'll be voting on Premier League performances.

Exactly mate, don't you listen they're just jealous. It's a cracking pick.

On a totally unrelated note, Weah scored 4 goals in his 18 PL games. Tomas Brolin also scored 4 in his first 18 PL games.
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

You can't lump Barnes and Gazza in the same bracket as Weah. They were still good players in PL for couple of years and there influence on English football is immense and they did produce lot of cracking performances in the old first division which is the same thing as PL . Weah was pretty much finished article when he came to PL.

Nah.

Barnes still had a good number of quality appearances in the PL at the top level. Bit like Rushy. Gazza, not so much but still half decent. And Weah just definitely not. You'd probably rank Weahs impact in the Prem alongside Francis Jeffers or Shaun Goater. Not to say he wasn't once brilliant, but it certainly wasn't in this league.

I remember Gazza being quite good for Boro. He had lost some pace and energy but was still very creative and good dribbler. Everton were just shit back then and he wasn't good but you could still see that he had that touch of greatness about him, linked up well with Francis Jeffers.  Overall its no different than drafting people who have just had 1 or 2 good seasons recently. Or in case of Negredo and Ozil good 5 months.

Very decent. Playing it by the book by picking proven Premier League players. A bit like Nigel Martyn, Matt Le Tissier, Gilberto Silva and Edu.

Don't get me wrong, I loved Gazza. The most technically gifted player England has ever produced for me. But the truth is he was washed up by the time he came back to the Premiership. His one good season at Boro was spent in the first division. He was released on a free after a disappointing second season there. At Everton he was re-admitted to rehab in his first season and then the injuries set in and that was pretty much it.

No comparison with Negredo or Ozil to be honest and I'm one who hates to see those kind of picks in these drafts.

Its a sheep draft and there only so many good players in PL there will be plenty of these type of picks. Its better to pick players like Gazza and Barnes since the nostalgia factor is huge with these players.

Believe me I know how tough these sheep drafts are. Better to have a Barnes or Gazza than a sheep that's for sure, but I will point out when I see someone calling a player good in the Premiership when he really wasn't  ;)

On Barnes though it is perhaps a little unfair to lump him in with Gazza and Weah. He still had a great pass in him and the odd banana freekick too, but sadly he wasn't as lean as he once was and had lost almost all of his pace by the time the Premier League was formed. In fact, you'd mostly find him in a central midfield playmaking role rather than on his favoured left side.

You're thinking about twelve moves ahead....to the next draft actually, which is a Serie A one. So great pick with Weah :)

Gus Uhlenbleek ;)

There's plenty of 'good' players to be fair. Swansea, Coventry, Bradford, Ipswich etc all had players who were good at some point.
