I was thinking, with his ability to strike the ball I bet he could be a brilliant penalty taker if he practices.

Has anyone noticed how opposition now attacks down his side even less now? I noticed this against Spurs and last night too.

Testament to how good he is defensively too.

Could someone with a deeper knowledge of the game explain why he doesn't take all of our corners? To me it seems that he gets it into the right area with far more consistency than Robertson or especially Salah. Maybe just confirmation bias on my part, or maybe it's as simple as preferring the outswinger from both sides.

I think it’s for a few reasons.

1. It’s to have an alternative if TAA is missing

2. It’s to create a different angle of delivery. Left foot/right foot. And to create a different set play with either an out swinger or in swinger. If we did the same thing every time it becomes easy for opposition managers to train for. Hopefully robbo improves because his delivery is as good as TAA

hendo calmly jogging back while getting onside was proper game intelligence too. Thought his first touch was proper shit as it wasn't sideways but the finish more than made up for it.

Trent and Robbo are going to be crucial players for us turning this around. They've always overloaded the midfield and let fullbacks whip crosses in, being so confident in their ability to clear aerial danger.

I think it was a case of a rare off night for Trent last night, maybe he is one who will take a bit of time to get back into things after the winter break as he was not at his best at the weekend either.
His performances have been so high and so consistent for the last 2 seasons that he is allowed the odd game where not everything comes off, he is still so young and far more consistent than most players his age.

Funny that his best cross of the night came with his left after a night of frustration with his right. Beautiful ball towards Firmino which was brilliantly defended.
