Good looking team. Just one observation. You've spelt Ibe's name wrong; it's 'Ibe' not 'It'. Apart from that you're golden.

I don't think any of them are shaky, they just aren't Sakho/Can level good.

For me we have struggled in the middle with Henderson next to Allen, so with someone like (potentially) Lallana or Williams there we could be totally over run and then I don't think it would matter who was in defence.

I'd rather we try to control it through with Can and Allen in the middle of the park even if it means our passing out the back takes a little hit.

We don't play with 2 'sitters' though which is why I don't think Lallana would have a problem playing centrally in this formation (in the same way fabregas plays in a 2 for Chelsea) - it's all a bit moot though as I expect we'll play Can there

Liverpool have confirmed that Henderson, Sakho and Johnson will definitely miss the game.

http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/180716-hendo-johnson-and-sakho-miss-Beşiktaş

Jordan Henderson, Glen Johnson and Mamadou Sakho will not be involved in Liverpool's Europa League clash with Beşiktaş on Thursday night due to injury and illness.

The trio did not train today and were not in the travelling party that flew to Turkey this afternoon to defend a 1-0 lead in the second leg at the Ataturk Stadium.

Vice-captain Henderson is absent with an ankle knock, Johnson is ill and Sakho remains sidelined with the hip issue that ruled him out of the win at Southampton on Sunday.

Brendan Rodgers' side take a narrow advantage into the return meeting in Istanbul following a late Mario Balotelli penalty winner in the opening tie at Anfield last Thursday.

He could play there, I don't doubt that, I just think he'd be a little 'weak' there so to speak (not that he isn't pretty good at putting his foot in) and would potentially leave Allen out numbered.

He doesn't impose himself enough to play that position and yes, he is too weak to play there.

Hopefully we can get a result here but the Lovren-Skrtel-Toure back line is potentially calamitous. Hopefully Sakho is fit for the weekend or we'll get soundly beat.

We just need to be solid. Plan for a 0-0. I'd be happy with the most uneventful game ever played by LFC even worse than the away game to Everton this season.

Newcastle (A) was one of the most painful watches in recent memory.

With Henderson out it'll be good to see who Rodgers considers a candidate for the captaincy

My guess would be Skrtel. He's the senior player and done it a few times.

I'd go with this lineup to be honest.  And I'd actually prefer to see both Can and Allen rested but we really don't have anyone else for those positions.

Looks like Can will get a start as a MF against good opposition.

Lots of changes to the starting eleven, compared to a few weeks ago. This will be tough. Beşiktaş impressed me on Anfield.

For anyone who was wondering (like me), Beşiktaş are neck-and-neck with Galatasaray at the top of the league (one point behind with 13 games to go), and play the side that is bottom (by some distance) in the league, at home on Sunday evening. I don't imagine that they would rotate too much given that their upcoming fixture couldn't be any easier.
Aren't they rotating plenty because of suspended and injured players?

Really hoping for a Balotelli start and for Sturridge to be on the bench. Dan will definately start vs City so id rather he came off the bench for this. Front 3 of Balo, Sterling and Lallana should be enough to get atleast 1 goal.

Balo starting is a good shout for me (though not likely for Rodgers).  Don't think we will be seeing as much of the ball and with Lovren-Skrtel-Toure in the back we are really going to need a good target up top.  Balo for me does a real good job of holding up play and drawing fouls.  I expect this game will be fairly physical and Balo has that in his bag as well.

Agreed. Don't think he'll start, but he should.

Moreno                              Ibe
             Allen        Can
     Toure       Skrtel        Lovren
                  Mignolet

If he starts, I think this game could see him finally make the kind of impact his price-tag necessitates.

We say that all the time though, and he rarely puts in that type of performance, although there have been glimmers of hope lately. His timing would be good if it happens, but I think if he starts, we might see another disappointing performance. That would change if he's paired with Sturridge though. I think Balotelli in a two-forward pattern gets more out of both players

In the first leg there seemed to be a minor situation after we scored, the fucking stupid "your not singing anymore" pissed off a few of their fans on the Annie road a few of them were trying to break through the stewards cordon, maybe this has their back up.

This is the team most likely to be fielded but I would like to see Balotelli start alongside Sturridge with Sterling behind both. It would mean making way for Lallana but he would be a quality option off the bench.

A tough night ahead given how the first leg went.

Changes likely given our visitors next Sunday.

They followed up the Anfield defeat with a 1-0 away league loss to Eskişehirspor meaning they allowed Galatasaray to capitalise and take
over from them at the top of the league by a point.

Their home record is quite decent this season but they have also lost a few.

Ba, again the clear dangerman given his impressive scoring rate this season.

A draw will do remember. Or a 2-1 to them for example once we get that away goal.

Will Mario Balotelli start?

This one's all about tactics.
Will be a boring game for neutrals.
Keep it tighter than tight at the back and if we get a good scoring chance make sure it's tucked away.
Brendan's got to get the tactics right.
Don't think Mario will start,
