The whole point of going to the match for me is to go regularly. I dont want to go and 'experience' it, like going to an expensive gig. Unfortunately, that's where the match is for me these days, once or twice a year. I can't afford to go regularly, and even if I could, I don't ever have anything in common with the majority of people in the stands now, I like being around like minded people with that tribal/communal spirit. I don't get that anymore at Anfield, the nature and supporter culture of a large core of the support is totally alien to me, aside from wearing something red, we have nothing in common. I go to lower league footy now, I can go every other week, it's accessible, nobody goes to be 'seen' at the match, nobody videos it, the club appreciate the support. it's some live footy and something to do. It's sad that Liverpool has been taken away from the common man and in turn it's core traditional fan base, but it is what it is, and it's what the club want, and it's just a symptom of the Prem in general. You might get the odd game where it's decent, but the bigger issue is that the whole culture of the club at the match has been fundamentally changed. Football has moved on, but it has sold its soul.
