The self isolation thing is also to prevent people unknowingly transmitting the virus at a quick rate. All fine having no over 70s in the ground but theoretically a handful could pass it on to people and cause an outbreak in wherever they’re from, straining the NHS etc.
yeah I think you just ban everyone or no one, just because there’s over 70s at football doesn’t mean they won’t contact someone who was

Seria A suspended..  I think im reading it right that its only suspended until April 03rd and not completely finished

We need to get this done as quickly as possible! If it goes beyond Palace we could be in trouble as our next game is City on the 04th April

Boris Johnson's plan appears to be that we let it kill some people who are collateral and we all crack on as normal so we should be fine.

Huge rise in Spanish numbers on Sun/Mon, mainly Madrid & the Basque Country. No flights cancelled there yet so Atleti fans will still come over.

Boris Johnson's plan appears to be that we let it kill some people who are collateral and we all crack on as normal so we should be fine.

This.

To be fair you can make the same claim of political leaders in Italy, US, Korea and China. They know damn well that not taking measures (working from home, staying home if you're sick, stopping flights from certain areas) early means more fatalities but they also know that it means a hit to the economy if workers are advised to work/stay at home. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is all that the likes of Boris care about, in case that wasn't already apparent.

Football is pretty secondary at times like these but I share the view that we just get the damn thing won asap. Not sure what will happen with the CL. No way that any team should have to play in Turin, closed doors or not.

Quote from England’s deputy chief medical officer on BBC Breakfast this morning:

Dr Harries said cancelling big outdoor events like football matches would not necessarily be a decision supported by science.
"The virus will not survive very long outside," she said. "Many outdoor events, particularly, are relatively safe."

So just close the food and drinks. No-one allowed to congregate in the concourses.

If a pro footballer contracts it, the season will probably be over shortly after. They need to self-isolate. The guidelines say that anyone in risk of contracting it should also self isolate. So that is all of his team mates. There would be no way for them to fulfil their fixtures.

Get sanitiser dispensers all over the ground.
No food on the concourse.
Put out a message warning anyone with the virus not to attend with the promise of a refund and keep credits.

Simple steps along these sort of lines would probably ultimately be better than behind closed doors games with the risk of fans congregating in the streets and pubs.

This is what people aren't contemplating.
If a footballer gets it, Which they easily can, the whole thing is over. For months.
I'm mentally preparing myself for this season being written off.

A new season shouldn't be started until this one has been finished. Even if that means finishing this one towards the end of the year.

they won’t but it all depends on times, they might make the next football season only 19 games for example so that the calendar is fixed

I’m not saying it definitely will be. I’m just preparing myself for if it does.
We’re in unprecedented times here. Who knows what’s going to happen.

What I do know is that Arsenal V City and our next two games could be all we have to win it for definite so they’re all massive.

Surely the season is too far along for it to be just written off.  I can’t see the Euros happening at the moment, particularly since it is being held all over Europe so the sensible thing to do is postpone that until next year and prolong the domestic season.

There is already precedent for the dates of the domestic season being changed with the schedule for Qatar 2022.

They might have to put the Euros back a year

And if they do then they can cancel all the March internationals. Players can self isolate for two weeks.

That Nottingham Forest owner shook hands with every member of the Forest squad at the weekend. Oh dear.
