Just imagine Bally and Emlyn going hammer and tong at it upstairs. 2 of the most competitive lads in football in their era and both died way too young.

tezmac agreed, but it's not just the energy that Emlyn had, it was the sheer joy of playing for the great Liverpool FC...

what an honour to have had him as one of our greatest ever players...

good old yarn that

my choice of Liverpool FCs best ever captain, he had to be seen to be believed, his engine was second to none, what a master stoke from Bill Shankly in bringing him to Anfield.

never ever forget the smile

As much as I rate Stevie, Thommo, Souness Hansen and Hyypia,,  Emlyn will always be the one,  as he was our club captain when I started going the game in the old Paddock and Kop with my milk crate.

He was advanced in his time, 40 years too early,,, only if we had couple of players with half his ability and enthusiasm in our team we wouldn't be in the mid-table mediocrity where in now Nige.

He was my original idol, followed by Keegan then Kenny, you run out of idols when you grow hairs around ye plums
