Redknapp was waxing lyrical about us all game though to be fair. I think a lot of ex-players who become pundits try to even the scales when commentating regardless of how uninformed the comment may be. Perhaps they worry too much about the legions of screaming Mancs and Blues all over social media whinging about bias. I never listen to them properly anyway. Only interested in the game itself.

Yeah, I've no idea why some actually sit there and listen to pundits. I don't watch any half-time or full-time analysis, I couldn't care less what the pundits think about the match I just watched.

Must have been nervous today, as all the players but was absolutely fine.

Just think he's getting paid £110k a week to watch the best attack in world football ahead of him.
Thank Fowler we're not getting Caulker

I think not only will he save us points  this season but I can see well get one or two goals from a quick direct pass to the forwards from him.

He's immensely talented and was quality on the ball but I'm a little worried that he's rooted to his line on corners. Proactivity on corners/crosses was really impressive from Karius in the second half of last season, and seemed to have fixe what had been a real weakness for us. That said, regardless of if that is a thing - and obviously it's way to soon to tell - that's something that both Mugs and Karius seemed to improve on hugely under Achterburg.

I think where he'll make the biggest difference is actually against bus parking teams, same with Fabinho. He's yet another player who can break lines and find gaps in defences, I'd say we can field a team with 9 or maybe even 10 players who can do that in one way we or another now. That'll make a big difference in those games.

To be honest none of West Ham's corners were in an area to sensibly come out to claim. Needs minor work but it's something that keepers tend to mature at and become better at with age and being placed in those scenarios.

Dunno why Redknapp is getting stick, he's right about that save from Alisson, he palmed it straight down the middle of the box and we got lucky no West Ham players were in that area.
Yes but it didn’t! No need for Redknapps comments he did exactly what he could there and got it out of the danger area. Where as a lot of keepers will make a great save then it will fall to a striker to score. One of Alisson’s biggest strengths is that he will make a save but always parry/punch it away from danger as well.  As has already been said he sees it late coz of Van dijk so does the right thing and gets it away. You could say any clearance by any player could fall to an opposition player but doesn’t.  Watch some of his saves he makes for Roma and how he gets such a strong arm on them he clears it from the danger area. It’s clearly something he works on

Watched him a bit more closely today as I really haven't watched him that closely before. Have to say, he's a huge, huge improvement in the position. Even beyond his impressive technique, you can just tell that he is a really intelligent footballer. He just makes the right decision most of the time. Also, his long range kicking is really, really good too. It almost always finds his man.
