Not sure of the time of the game but he went past a player without touching the ball around the center circle that left the midfielder on his arse. Had me howling in the middle of the night here. If someone could gif that shit please  :wave

Thought he started the game poorly. However, after his goal, he just grew in confidence. Should do him the world of good going forward.

Amazing that on the ball, I thought he was indecisive and sloppy. I honestly can't wait til he actually gets back to his best considering he can score a hattrick when he wasn't even playing that well.

Who was our last player to have a hat trick in CL by the way? Firmino in group stage?

Thought so too,his timing and accuracy of passes was off compared to his best level which we have seen.

But he kept persisting and trying and never stopped working hard and banged in 3 goals while doing it,i've no doubt Sadio will hit his true top form soon with our most important games of the season coming up.

Can't wait.  :)

It's been mention quite a lot in this thread, that he'd play better on the right, but I don't agree. He's perfect playing on the left in our set up.

He's scored at a good rate all season, always works hard, but today, after the first goal, was the first time since his injury that I thought he played as well as he did at the start. Coming into top form at just the right time. No team in Europe will want to face us, we have the firepower to get past any team as long as we keep our front 3 fit.

So technically, Spurs got three points too? No actually, six right? Because away goals count double.
Does that mean we just got 13 points? 3 for the win and 2 each for the away goals?  :P

Early on I would say so but certainly second half he was great in those areas and was a large reason why the 4th goal came about as well as his work in the lead up to smashing it in for the 5th.

Although there might not be many on RAWK that seen him, I'm told Facchetti was the best ever Italian left back by some Italian seniors I know over here. I've never seen him but just found that interesting. Reading a little about him though, you can see why they would think that. Maldini was far more successful but many consider Facchetti the better footballer.

Also for Brazilians, Marcelo would struggle to get in many peoples top 3 with Nilton Santos the clear #1 and many have a massive amount of love for Roberto Carlos too.

My personal top 3 would be Nilton Santos, Facchetti, Maldini. Weirdly I haven't really seen the first 2 play. Just based on what I know and have read. If the question was "during the time you have been watching football"
1. Maldini
2. Julian Dicks
3. Marcelo

Not the place but in short,Facchetti..never seen him play but will take some time now to,Maldini..his honours speak volumes & is certainly close to one of my favourite ever players who himself was converted from left back & thats the one and only Emlyn Hughes.

Sweet. Hopefully we do the same for Bobby too. And I realise that Salah's only just got here, but I'd offer him a gazillion pounds a week on the condition that he promises to stay for at least four more seasons.

I haven't got the joke, but hope it's a joke. It's a little bit better if you want to include Marcelo in the best you've seen though if you haven't seen other great ones.

Not that I've seen a lot of them, but I've read about a lot of players and revisited some historical games that are fortunately available for viewing. Many of these games are in youtube, which helps. Facchetti and Nilton Santos are much more highly regarded and them along with Maldini are likely to be historians' popular choices. Marcelo's game has some weaknesses which is why he'd never be regarded that high. And then we've got Ruud Krol, Roberto Carlos and Andreas Brehme who've done something worthwhile in the International scene. And Cabrini was part of the legendary 1982 Italian side and was a legend at Juve as well. There are quite a few players there and thereabouts. In a general perspective, Marcelo is not considered better than their RB counterparts Lahm, Zanetti and Cafu who are in turn not considered clearly better than the above players.
