67% possession.

Good display; liked the attacking movement and the fact we got plenty of bodies forward. Cracker goal from Glen too

Haven't seen the game.
How did Enrique play in the attacking part and where did Downing play (how'd he do)?
Thanks to anyone who bothers to answer :)

Downing was much improved and put some good quality balls into the box from wide after he actually took the Gomel defenders on  :o - He also tracked back well and worked hard so fair play to him.

Enrique - Solid throughout and also put some decent balls into the box after a couple of well timed runs down the flank.

Sure some fucker will have something negative to say though.

Lucas just played nearly a full 90 minutes.

We should all just take a moment to get excited about that.

Good performance from us tonight. Nice strike from Johnson while I felt Borini, Gerrard & Suarez linked well.

I only managed to see the second half, will download the first hopefully. Brought a big smile to my face seeing Gerrard close to Suarez, they linked up telepathically at times, I also thought we were great bringing the ball out, but what else can you expect with Lucas, Agger, Johnson & Reina in the team  8)

If we consider it was pretty much a pre season game, definately one of the better ones I have seen in recent years.  The players can only get better, with fitness and learning the new system.  Very positive after tonight.  :D

Haha, basically if Agger goes the owners will be the bad guys, coming from the captain, that's hilarious. No amount of pr spin will save em from the backlash now, should they cash in. Might end up staying now.

Anyway, really great performance, thought everyone played their role really well, with a few obvious outstanding contributors. What's important now is we get 2 or 3 extra bodies in before the window closes, without losing any vital cogs, and we have a squad primed and capable of at least challenging for 4th.

It was a strange feeling but I wasnt annoyed much with Downing tonight, on the contrary. Very very odd feeling. I really dont wanna jinx it but Rodgers seems like he could be a decent manager when he can make even someone like Downing useful.

Very good performance against weak opposition.  It was nice to see us playing it on the deck and Borini/Suarez/Gerrard combo looks to be developing very well.  Suarez was superb (particularly in the first half).

Let's see how this all develops.

Haven't seen the game.
How did Enrique play in the attacking part and where did Downing play (how'd he do)?
Thanks to anyone who bothers to answer :)
Everyone looked good at this stage of pre-season. Passing was great, movement was good, pressing was HIGHLY intelligent and relentless- as it were under Rafa. Whenever we lost the ball, we had 2/3 players swarming and harassing the oppo and almost immediately, they lost the ball. What was noticeable, was that the ball looked to "stick" to our players- yes, like it does with Suarez. Glen was a marauder and his goal was stunning. Also came as a result of a ricocheted shot from Suarez(assisted the first 2 goals and had a big hand in the 3rd).

Enrique had as usual- impeccable ball-control, but he stayed behind the halfway line. I can't really remember him making any of his previous forays forward and he linked up well with the midfield- sort of like Fabio used to do. Tactically, he was sound. I could see no way through that left side that these 2 occupied- even if the game was still on. Agger really does bring the best out of our defense.

Gerrard and Suarez reminded me of Gerrard and Torres. Like I said- a very enjoyable game!

Must be said, Downing played with much more confidence than usual. He made some good runs to the far post, took on the full back, hit some decent crosses and was good in rotating the possession. Really thinks he'll thrive in this system. We still need another wide player but he could be useful this season which would be change.

Good performance.

Worried by stevie's comments post match about agger.
Gerrard's doing us a favour here I think; hinting that it is the owners who want to sell (not the manager nor the player himself who wants out).

On our performance tonight, it was great to see us pass the ball around so well and having some penetration in the opposition box. Long may this continue...

Bit late to be standing up to the owners there Stevie, think he shoulda just said it might be out of his hands and not brought up the owners.  Anyway I only saw the last 15 unfortunately but the changes were very noticable.  Absolutely loved the way we pressed after we loved the ball and won it back so fast.  I'll be watching the first 75 later, can't wait.

Cracking game, great to see us totally dominate no matter who it's against. Shame Luis didn't get on the scoresheet, he definitely deserved a goal with all that work.

Only downside for me, and this isn't having a dig at anyone, is that I really miss seeing Kenny's celebrations when we score

They were saying shooooooot.

Calling for Carra to 'shooooot!'

Booing? I thought the crowd were shouting shooooooot.

It didn't sound like that to me, it was longer and went on after Carragher had passed to Spearing and back.
